We stayed for four days while my son was competing in ironman Austria - so a busy time. Very welcoming and friendly. My son's room was a spa room - huge with a sauna and a spa tub in the room by the window. Number 17 - no view but great room. Ours was on the 4th floor (43) and overlooked the lake. Smallish room but great view and lovely balcony with sun loungers. Hotel is much smaller than it looks in pictures - but that was good. Our only problem was that they were not serving dinner for the first two nights and that would have been convenient on the first night in particular after a long drive from Vienna. I don't know why! We had dinner there on the Saturday night and it was lovely. Breakfast really good. Comfortable and easy...

Room Tip: See write up... lake view is lovely - but so is the spa room (with no view)

We stayed during the Austria ironman weekend and it was ok but a bit too pricy due to the event. The rooms are small and so was the bathroom but we had a nice balcony looking at the tennis court. Breakfast was quite good with a lot of variety. They have a private beach to the lake and the lake water temperature was perfect for a swim.

I stayed here for several weeks inJuly /August/September 2016 and totally enjoyed the familiar surroundings and the staffs casual approach (although some new staff in the kitchen- and they don't do poached eggs! LOL, ) The breakfast buffet was varied and the hot rolls were the perfect way to start the day . I love mostly the position of the Astoria, at the back the lake and front several ways to get to the main street for shopping or transport. It is the perfect place just to veg out and totally relax. Take a book, sit on the balcony and catch the breeze and view from the lake. A few storms this time that offered another view ...Summer storms - beautiful ,The Astoria is the perfect Hotel for a Lake setting. This year No pool and the Boat House restaurant was gone. To be honest it's all about Location, Location , and the Astoria is in the right location. I keep going back, and intend to again and again (Maybe I will take the microwave poached egg dish with me next time - no excuses for no poached eggs)

Room Tip: Ask for the room facing the Lake and one with a separate shower , climbing into a high bath to shower can get difficult with age.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in september - we treated ourselves to a room in the on-lake pavilion building - directly on the lake, beautiful view and large balcony to sit, use the loungers and feed the ducks and moorhens.

It's a period hotel which we really liked - our room was very spacious with three large windows on to the lake and balcony - nicely furnished with everything we needed; great modern bathroom.

Breakfast was served in the hotel - very good choice; nice staff - overlooking the garden area. There's plenty of free parking on site, its location in the town is good; everything within walking distance and there's a pedestrian walk along the lake between the main hotel grounds and the lakeside pavilion building. We would definitely return for the space, view and facilities - particularly if visiting during the Harley Bike Week in nearby Faaken. Faaken is maybe 20 minutes drive but this is away from the crowds yet convenient as was evidenced by the many 'mature' bikers staying in the hotel during our stay. Very nice hotel, quiet, unpretentious - elegant.

Room Tip: Treat yourself to a room in the Lakeside Pavilion for best views.

We stayed one week at beautiful Astoria. This is a great Hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast and the best location am Wörthersee. The Hotel is literary on the lake. We borrowed bikes from Hotel to explore the area we went waterskiing, paragliding and a lot of relaxing in the private beach in the front of the hotel. This was a great vacation.

Room Tip: Choose a room with AC and lakeview or the rooms on the lake
