As the hire car slowly approached from the foot of the mountain, La Hacienda’s panoramic beauty came to light. Located in the historic region of Old Grand Port, La Hacienda offers the perfect location to unwind for a few days. The staff (Samuel) were very kind throughout our stay, recommending the best way to trek up Lion Mountain, helping us order take-away food from Mahebourg and thankfully helping us start our car again after a flat battery. The stunning sunset views, daily breakfast, giant tortoises, sounds of the birds and all-round great vibes make La Hacienda the perfect place to unwind.

It's an amazing place for reconnecting with your partner. There's no one to disturb you around, you really get to enjoy ur private space. There's a private BBQ grill and a small kitchen where u can cook, with all the utensils available , although the utensils are getting a bit old now. But the place is really authentic n the view is breath taking.

Had a very bad experience at Hacienda yesterday.. The breakfast was so bad. Breakfast was delivered at 6.30 instead of 8 am. Eggs were expired..juice was only half brick..
No céréales were provided.. We asked the watchman to replace the juice and to provide cereales. I was suprised that céréales were out of stock and yogurt also since i asked to swap..
Really disgusting.. Even thé rooms were not clean..

Cannot describe the peacefulness which reigns around the lodge. Secluded, romantic and ideal when you like things to be at your own pace. Surrounded by gardens and the lodges are quite distant therefore privacy is assured with an amazing view over the sea and mountains. We got this beautiful lodge with terrace - Day Gecko.

Lodge was equipped with a kitchenette, fridge, necessary cutlery and utensils. We did our own cooking and a grill was provided upon request. We got all our food, drinks and other items such as mosquito repllant cream, charcoal for grill, shower gel, toothpaste from the nearby supermarket(London Way, Mahebourg)-15min drive from the place and some items down the mountain,in a shop.

We had a great 2-night stay. The owner, Wendy was very kind and generous. Ambrage and Baya were so friendly and helpful. We run out of cooking gas at an odd time one night and Baya didn't disappoint us. He changed it immediately for us. He also provided us with our breakfast basket with toasts, raw eggs, juice, jam, milk and butter in the morning which was more than enough for one person. Ambrage was always around during the day looking after the gardens and having a little chat with us.

We met other couples during our stay and invited them for a grill evening as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Overall, it's a highly recommended place for an escape to the mountains. Breathtaking views from the lodge and pool. Clean and practical space. Thank you all for your hospitality.

A lot to do. Loved the zipline and buggies. The buggies could go a little bit harder. Nice food. You have to try the hot chocolat and mama juana. We had a nice cool guide Cofe. Afterwards is the waiting a little bit long.
