We arrived at about 11pm and after having checked in were driven to our rooms. Thank God for room service as all the restaurants were closed. The Hotel was beautiful and everyone was very pleasant. Our Beachfront room opened to the Beach and we easily found louge chairs every day with shade. Waiters and Waitresses came along the beach every so often to offer drinks and refreshments. The Italian and Japanese restaurants were very good as was the Steakhouse, the buffet not so great. Now for the Buts. While the beach view was beautiful there were a lot of rocks in the water and without water shoes it would be painful, even dangerous. The rocks did however make for some great snorkeling just off the beach. Tip- Use some bread to be able to feed the fish out of your hand. The buffet was nice, but all the food was always cold. The Steakhouse while preparing the steak perfectly - again the meat and dish always arrived cold. As well, while I enjoy a good curry once a month, it seemed there was an oversupply of it at the buffet.

The activities were hit and miss. The ZipLine in the hotel's adventure area was great! My son completed enjoyed himself. The Excursion to visit the cool runnings bobled was enjoyable and the scenery/view were spectacular while terribly overpriced! The Snorkeling in the glass bottom boat was a waste of Money. We were taken to an area where there were few fish and the depth of the water at 25-30feet didn't help the view. Off the shore was much better.

In the end, I would have to say we really rested, enjoyed our stay. Would we go back? That is what we are uncertain of.

Spent a week at Melia Braco for a girlfriends trip. Resort is about an hour from Montego Bay airport with no other resorts around. Beach is only in front of resort so no long walks. The Good: attentive, friendly, hardworking staff. Resort is clean and well maintained. It had unique evening entertainment, some which was local which was greatly appreciated. Areas for improvement: The resort was out of beer for 80% of the week we were there. Really, an all inclusive resort with no beer. They also were out of items on the restaurant menus. These seem like management type issues. There is no buffet for evening meal, so you have to sit down at restaurants, most that need reservations. The power went out like clock work in our room, usually at 6pm when one of us was in the shower. It was back on within 30 minutes. we were told it was isolated to our building. The hide a bed was very uncomfortable, we asked for a second mattress and piled it on top. No shade at the pool, they could use some umbrellas or canopies. All of these issues were minor and staff were apologetic, but probably enough cumulative issues that we will not come back.

We have stayed at a Melia property 3 of our last 4 spring breaks, each time we book 2 suites for a week period. This trip was to Braco Village, we booked two Royal suites in the Level side, they were beach walk outs and paid in full in November. We choose these properties because we prefer the small private locations vs the large crowded resorts.

Two weeks prior to arriving we received an email informing us that we were being moved to a different location in Jamaica, it is a 2,000 room resort and not what we wanted. They said they would have to move us because the Level side would be undergoing "maintenance". This is not what we wanted but we were two weeks out, had our flights booked and when we looked at other Jamaican resorts we would prefer to stay at they were all booked. We decided to go and try to make the most of it. 3 days before flying they contacted us to say that we could stay our first 5 days at Braco Village and then transfer, we chose that option as the other property they wanted to transfer us to had poor ratings and was not what we wanted.

Upon arriving at the resort on Saturday we found out from staff, we were not being moved because of maintenance, rather they decided to book the entire resort to one group and choose to relocate or refund all the other guests. So not only did they decide to relocate us but they could not even be honest about the reason why. We were set to relocate Thursday at noon, by Wednesday morning they had closed most of the restaurants to prepare for the incoming group. We were set to transfer at noon on Thursday, Thursday morning there was one small restaurant open only for breakfast and lunch. Our car they scheduled was not on time so we got our own taxi and went to the new location. Once at that location we had to wait until 3:00 to check in, thus losing a almost a full day of our location, packing, unpacking and waiting to check into our own room.

At our new location we were checked into a junior suite and a standard room with a partial ocean view not close to the beach. The location was as the reviews stated worn out, and super crowded even though the Sales Manager guaranteed us she had stayed their and it was of the same quality as Braco Village.

We spoke to the sales Manager and the only thing she tried to offer was service at the salon, and hoped we would come back again. I spoke to multiple other guests that were having the same experience and you can see similar reviews on the last week of March. In conversations with staff this was not the first time they have done this.

I really hope they made a lot of money this week for a one time group as being a loyal customer I will never return. Trying to contact anyone at corporate is just a long email train that gets you no where. Its too bad, their front line people are great and they felt really bad about the treatment, but the management was not nearly as concerned.

So if you are comfortable booking somewhere months in advance with the chance shortly before you arrive you will find out that reservation holds no value then Melia and Braco Village are the place for you. This is the first bad review I have ever posted on social media but, dont know what else to do as I have never been treated this poorly.

We recently returned from our 2nd visit to Melia Braco Village. We returned as we loved the resort last year and I am happy to say things were just as good this time around. We love this resort and the staff and plan to return again. We travelled with a party of four, 2 couples.

Both times we stayed in a beachfront (ground level) room. Last year we were in the Level area and this year in the regular area. The rooms on both sides are pretty much the same except the Level room was slightly bigger and had an extra bar sink which we never really used. The view from both rooms was great and both are steps from the beach and sea.

The service and staff throughout the resort is very good regardless of which side you are staying on. Both sides have access to all the same restaurants except the Level side has one extra restaurant.

The food is very good to excellent. There are 5 restaurants. A steak house, Italian, Jamaican/Caribbean, Asian/Peruvian fusion and the buffet. Our favourite was the Asian/Peruvian which offers regular seating as well as a limited number of cooking tables. We tried the cooking table where the chef prepares the meal right at your table. We absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. The steak house was also very good except we found the shrimp kabobs somewhat flavourless/plain tasting. All the food in the Italian was good but big eaters may find the portions a bit small. The Jamaican is open for lunch and dinner. We ate there often for lunch and enjoyed it. The dinner menu is limited if you don’t enjoy seafood. The buffet is quite good for any meal breakfast, lunch , or dinner. At slower times of the year, such as when we were there, the buffet doesn’t open for dinner. The resort also offers 24/7 room service which we tried a few times and enjoyed.

Not all restaurants are open each night, they rotate and usually there are at least 2-3 open. There is a schedule posted in the lobby and also outside the buffet. Other than the minor issues above the food was very good. On Fridays all restaurants are closed and they have a giant Jamaican street party with tons of food, beverages, and entertainment. This was a favourite for us on both visits.

The nightly entertainment is very good for an all inclusive resort at least compared to others we have visited. What we really liked is there is more variety here than many other places where the entertainment is very similar every night. Other than the street party we really enjoyed the beach party and the Michael Jackson tribute nights.

The resort is beautiful, with clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Housekeeping services are very efficient. There are stunning views of the sea from the ocean view rooms. The beach is nice and kept well groomed. Water shoes are recommended due to some rocky areas in the sea. Both the Level and regular pool areas are fairly large. We did not have trouble finding a place at the beach or pool at any time of day. But if you want a beach cabana you either have to get up real early or get on good terms with the beach attendants. One minor complaint we had is the lack of umbrellas for shade by the regular side pool..

Bar service is very good on both sides. The servers are quick and very friendly. Both the Level and regular side offer a wide assortment of poplar brands and cocktails. The Level side offers some higher end brands not available on the regular side.

The staff at the resort is outstanding and are a big part of what makes the resort great. Any time you talk to any member of the staff they seem happy to interact with you and do anything they can to make sure you are enjoying yourself. Exceptions to this are rare in our experience. What’s more, you really get the feeling they are genuine, and that they really enjoy talking to you and that it makes them feel good to make you feel good.

A special thank you to the Guest Services Team at the resort for taking such good care of us, especially to Gloria and Ramona who we talked to numerous times. Also a thank you to all of the staff in general for their outstanding customer service.

We love this resort and it’s staff and would highly recommend it to anyone. We feel like this is our Jamaican home away from home and we definitely plan on returning. If you any questions about the resort feel free to send me a private message.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms offer spectacular views

We have been traveling to Jamaica for over 30 years and our stay at Melia Braco Village was among one of the best resort experiences that we've had. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our requests!

We stayed on the Level side of the resort, which was quiet, well staffed, well guarded and well maintained. Akilia checked us in and went above and beyond to ensure that she responded to our questions and ensured that we were provided with a cell phone on the resort so that we could call our concierge for further assistance. Juliet and the wonderful ladies on the beach ensured that our cabana was prepared with adequate towels each morning and that our food and drink requests were satisfied. We enjoyed daily coconut water from freshly opened coconuts.

We typically ate breakfast at the Golden Sand, where I was able to enjoy a Jamaican breakfast each morning and our server-Caron- was awesome. It was seven of us and he recalled our breakfast and drink orders from memory! Each morning he promptly seated us at our preferred table and placed our orders! What service. Our concierge team-Kevoy,Travis and Shaudrea- were the greatest!! No request went unanswered and they ensured that my son's birthday celebration went off without a hitch. When we were interested in having braised oxtails our concierge team contacted the chef and ensured that he prepared the oxtails and provided us with a delicious oxtail meal. Lastly, on the Level side the bars were stocked with premium alcohol, there was 24 hour room service for no additional charge with steaks prepared so tender we were able to cut them with a butter knife, the food at the restaurants was very tasty and there was a decent amount of restaurant choices.

As with all resorts, there are a few areas for improvement. Towards the end of our trip, the restaurants ran out of chicken nuggets, which was a lunch and dinner staple for the kids. We were able to order chicken strips as a substitute, but there is probably a need to increase the food order so there is no shortages. The resort rooms had some slat windows, which enabled little lizards to slip in. This is not uncustomary for the Caribbean, but I'm not a fan of lizards and was none to happy to have two of them removed from the room. Fortunately, we had superb concierge service that promptly removed the lizard upon request-thanks Kevoy and Carlton!!! There was also only 4 cabanas on the Level side. Given the popularity of Cabanas there is definitely a need for increase. During our stay, we noticed a few additional Cabanas being built, which I'm sure will be a welcomed addition.

Job well done Melia staff. We will definitely return!!
