Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the patio door frame came off at the bottom when we opened it so there was a big gap and we put it back how we found it as it was not going to be fixed in the evening, it was sorted when we came back the next day. The following day we wanted to order pizza but were told its on the menu that night, that was disappointing.

If you are using MTN as your cellphone service provider this hotel is not for you, there is no cellphone coverage in the hotel. The wifi they have is only at reception. The check in service was bad. They would want you to proof that you had paid for the booking yet they had my reservation. My booking included breakfast but they didn't know in the morning

My friend had some business to do in Mpumalanga and so I decided to go along. We reserved rooms to stay at Malaga Hotel. Although Malaga did not have power for 2 days, they had a generator and so our experience was minimally disturbed by the outage. It was really hot when we got there and the pool was a welcome distraction from the blistering heat.

While at the pool we ordered the Peri Peri Chicken pizza and the base was extremely thick, so we were well disappointed with our lunch, but for dinner we ordered the wings with salad and fries and this made up for our horrible pizza experience.

The rooms are basic yet serviced, note that there is no wifi inside the rooms, especially the rooms far away from reception, which was a bother as we were traveling for work. The hotel is just off the highway, so be prepared to hear trucks and other vehicles on the road at night.
Overall, it was an okay experience and the staff, especially Mandla was kind.
