We've just come back from a 3 night (4 day) stay at the Lentaba Lodge at Lalibela. It was an amazing experience. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, our guide was incredibly knowledgeable (not just about the Big 5 either) and really helped to make our stay memorable. Loved the food and the accommodation. I understand the new owners have plans for some improvements (some furniture and artwork from a local artist), but it's pretty good right now!
We were also impressed by the reserve's attitude to conservation, their protection and care for their native plants and animals. I think it shows their commitment to long term sustainable tourism and should be applauded. We were lucky enough to see LOADS of animals and spend some time sitting quietly very close to them. The elephants in particular were a completely unforgettable experience. Thank you to Rudy, our guide, for making that happen.
Love to go back - maybe for a walking tour?

Comfortable accommodation, good food and an excellent game viewing experience, what more could you ask for? Renee and her team looked after us very well and Rudy was an exceptional guide for our game drives. He had a very good knowledge of all the flora and fauna on the property and his Photographic training was very helpful in enabling us to get the best pictures possible of the wildlife. Highly recommend this private game reserve.

Stayed for 2 nights and had the most amazing experiences. From the cheerful welcome at the entrance gate to the moment we left, the team were outstanding in their commitment to making our stay the best ever! I appreciated only having to drive a short distance to the reception and then being transported to the lodge by jeep. No scary rocky roads in our tiny rental car! We stayed at Lentaba Lodge and the room was gorgeous. Fabulous view over the countryside and the best bathroom ever with full wall window looking over the Reserve. The food was plentiful and delicious and with only 20 guests the staff were able to spend lots of time with us. Last but not least- The game drives- incredible! Techa was so knowledgable and informative. A careful and skilful driver with a natural affinity with the animals. He worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best experience of animals ever. Our fourth drive was hampered by the most torrential rain - but despite this he managed to find 7 lions for us to see as well as the other animals enjoying their morning downpour. A magical experience. We hope to return if we can. Highly recommended. Thank you Lalibela!

I took a group of 19 crew members from the Albatross Cruise ship to Lalibela this week. It was a most successful outing for them and everyone seemed to love being out in the African Sun.
After our Game Drive with Ruan we were treated to a lunch and then the highlight for us was being taught to play the African Drums. We were given lessons on the use of the drum and ended up having a great time making music with the group.

Room tip: All rooms have amazing views

Each of the lodges here are so so beautiful and unique. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Great game drive and layout of lodges. The Big 5 and animals in great condition! Some true African flavor with original lion paw prints in the cemented walkway area. Feels like you are lost at an oasis... it makes you want to loose your phone and just consume nature!
