Stayed here for a short summer break in Northumberland. To be honest, this was the only place available at short notice. All those other people who took rooms in the B+Bs and hotels nearby missed out big time. This is a lovely place in every way!
The owners, Tracey and Ian, immediately acknowledged the booking (via LateRooms) and provided really helpful directions. They are kind enough not to worry about arriving early or late, since they live on site. The shepherds hut is beautiful. The bed was so comfortable, the place was spotless and with luxury furnishings. The ensuite was a really refreshing facility in a 'glamping' type arrangement. The shower provide plenty of hot water. The views over the fields and fresh air added to the stay. The chickens entertained us as we had our breakfast in the neighbouring summer house. The full-English breakfast was cooked to perfection.
The owners are really lovely people, with great attention to detail and experience of being hospitable. They were very helpful with directions and recommendations - nothing is too much trouble. A great advertisement for Northumberland!
We visited Little Sparta (near Edinburgh and 2 hrs drive north) and the Farne Islands, Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle and beach. All well worth a visit. Have already recommended Hetton Law to many friends and family so maybe it will also be fully booked in future.
