We stayed here when visiting the David Austin Rose gardens, room was fantastic, food was top notch, real ales. Individual hotel very friendly and well worth the visit. The hotel has its own character and steeped in history.

Thankyou for your response to my first review . The things l highlighted are just the things all three of us found . Maybe it's just different tastes foodwise . None of us enjoyed it he main meal for the reasons stated . The younger staff were all smiles and helpful . It was the older lady we found a bit off . Maybe she was stressed . I'm have no need to phone you as you have already given your response so l see no reason to hear it again . It was just our experience that day . It is still a beautiful building and gardens . Thanks again for your response . I have changed it to average as l hadn't seen the terrible above the circles and your place is not terrible . Just our experience that day would not bring us back that's all . Thankyou . Audra.

Surprised my husband for his 80th Birthday I booked in for evening meal, bed and breakfast. He didn't know where he was going it was a complete surprise. The staff were superb, the food delicious. The swing in the room has made a good talking point since. We shall return. We give full marks for service, value and rooms. I couldnt get the ratings to work

We stayed here when travelling North and avoiding the motorways. The room was well equipped, quirky( with the swing!) and clean. The noise from the busy road was a bit intrusive as the weather was warm and we needed the window open. But overall, with a good breakfast this was very good value and we'd stay again.

Room Tip: A room at the back would be quieter

Most of the rooms have swings in, ours also had a comfortable four poster bed, hip bath and shower.
Unfortunately we were delayed arriving but a lovely ham salad had been left out and breakfast was great, a lot of cooking uses herbs from own garden. A chance find for work 20 years ago and well worth a return with my wife.
Some of staff still there 20 yeasr on.

Room Tip: Every room has its own character in a rambling old building.
