Lovely Sunday roast with nice veg, stopped off for lunch , it was quiet due to England playing in the world cup, service was good and the ambiance and decor was really nice. If we lived nearer the Dog would be a regular spot.

Went at 12,45pm, very quiet, staff very friendly and attentive and food was great. What more could you want. I sometimes think that hot food, good service and a generally nice place is hard to find these days - well, found it!

Been to The Dog a few times and always received excellent service and good food. Today though was exceptional thanks to Janine and her extra large hot chocolate!

Have been twice recently but not again for a long tome. Have been going to the Dog for probably over 20 years under various owners but never ones like the present one who seem to put the customer last and their profit first. It will not work!
Everything has gone up in price the menus downgraded but written up as something fancy. Its words not quality. Nearly black chips blamed on the potato variety not the too hot chip fat. No refund even offered. Battered fish liberally sprinkled with sea salt and told "that's the seasoning." I had to scrape it off.
Pepper pots with holes for ground pepper filled with cracked pepper - guess what none come out!
On the main menu add another £6 on most dishes if you want potatoes and vegetable onto already overpriced meals and not very well cooked food. Presentation awful and cold plates.
Specials board devoid of specials and very charming waiter said "specials only available when they had surplus food".
They seem to like burgers - in the past usually just one on the Bar menu.
Sweets very pricey and very fancy with no substance. Cheese and biscuits £9!
It is most certainly not fine dining or even good dining. What a shame so many years of good food.
