Incredible experience from start to finish. Lodges are lovely and staff are amazing. The guides are excellent, we had Guy and he just made the experience. So knowledgable and respectful of the animals whilst enabling you to get up close. We absolutely loved it and I was really sad to leave. Would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect. Safari drives were incredible with a knowledgeable guide. Food and wine really tasty. We stayed looking out over the watering hole full of very noisy hippos! The private dip pool on our deck was heated and very welcome after the morning drives.

Our family of 5 stayed at Tree Tops over Christmas, and what a Christmas it was! We randomly found Lalibela as it was an easier flight from Capetown than Kruger. Our experience was magical. From arriving and having the staff greet us like they had been waiting for us for months to the beautiful lodging, to the top tier food and service, and the unforgettable, friendly, warm, welcoming staff. Sivi, our game drive Captain made our safaris amazing. Our first drive we saw lions and baby cheetahs and elephants. Thinking we couldn’t top that, the next morning we saw buffalo and rhinos and more elephants playing in the water. Each drive was more awe inspiring than the last.Sivi was an expert in all things animals but also made it so fun! He was born to do this. When we weren’t on game drives, we enjoyed hanging out and playing games and getting to know the rest of the amazing staff at Tree Tops. I can’t express enough how this experience bonded us and changed us and left us wanting to come back. We met another couple at the lodge (Christina and David) from Austria and now have 2 new members to our family. I can not imagine it being any more perfect and am forever grateful for this experience. It is a magical, beautiful,place. We will be back!

All our wildlife on Lalibela are free-roaming, so this makes the safari experience authentic and exciting as you never know what you will see on game drives! It is lovely to know that each game drive was more exciting and special than the previous one. This is the true beauty of Lalibela - our wonderful wildlife.
It is also lovely to know that you were able to make new friends during your stay at Lalibela. This must have made your stay even more special!

We had the most amazing stay at Lalibela and cannot recommend the place highly enough. From the beginning when our trip was messed up by our tour operator, Lalibela went out of their way to rectify the problem even though it was not their fault at all. Our ranger Janu was fantastic. He was absolutely brilliant with the kids on our truck and went out of his way to show us everything he could. We saw elephants, rhinos, lions, buffalo and a cheetah, only the elusive leopard escaped us! He was knowledgeable and friendly and was genuinely passionate about his job. One afternoon he and another member of staff took us with the kids to another part of the reserve for a walk about, and a ball for the kids to play with, where we also found a tower of giraffes much to our delight. The main reason we choose Lalibela was because we could bring our little girl on the game rides with us and she loved it so much. Accommodation and staff at the lodge were brilliant. It was truly a magical experience for us as a family and we can’t wait to come back.
