After a wet day with some afternoon rain, plus a visit to the Benja thermal baths and the Katiu bridge, it felt like a “soup day”. The first five items on their menu were five different soups. All sounded delicious, and in fact the two we enjoyed (one vegetable cream and one chicken) exceeded our (high) expectations.
Gretta, the young lady that served us, was not only fluent in English, but also graceful and genuinely friendly.
Tucked away on a small side street in the heart of Permeti. Ask anyone for directions. All the locals know it.
My guess is that the name “Trifilia” derives from tri- (Greek for “three”), and files (pronounced fil-ESS and is Greek for “race” or “ethnic group”.
