This spectacular cascading waterfall in the Reunion Island is about 500 metres high and its water leaps down along a mountainous cliff in the middle point between the cirque de Salazie and the Plateau Bélouve. It consists of several threads of water falling within the territory appertaining to the Salazie municipality. According to the legend, the origin of that freak of nature is to be put down to the fall into the deep precipice of a father crying on the veil of his daughter.
That curious waterfall makes the landscape concerned be quite uncommon thus offering an interesting view thanks to the natural beauty of the cascades. It’s worth therefore visiting the place.

A must see when visiting the island! We were short on time and could not hike around the cirque but seeing the natural beauty of this area takes your breath away

this waterfall is only part of a whole bunch of them . the whole road from St Benoit to Salazie is full of them . the only thing is that you have a tough time parking anywhere to have a good look at them . best way, if you have time, is to park where you can and treck the bottom of the valley

There are so many, many waterfalls in Reunion and the amazing cascading Bridal Veil Waterfalls would be one of the best. They are so aptly named and of course they have a legend of how the waterfalls were formed. Worthwhile seeing.

We decided to try to go to the waterfall and it was great. You need the proper shoes which can get wet, because you have to go in the stream of water, sometimes 30 cm deep and climb (ok for kids over 6) on the rocks too. It is short way in the stream - could be aprox 100m. Great fun and the waterfall is much more nicer when you stand just next to it - there is almost none pool and you can realy get very very close to the falling water. One of the best days in Reunion we spent in Salazie, starting here.
