“A Lovely Place to Stay”

The place is 20 min outside Chiang Mai in Hang Dong. Bob the owner picked me up from the airport and made my stay a very pleasant one. The Teak House is set in the gardens of Bob's house and there are 4 other teak cottages there, each very different and each one is very private. For the price, the rooms are good and they have all you need. Some are very new, just built but the one I stayed in was the original. They are all old rice storage houses, moved and converted to living quarters. .The area around Bob's house is residential and at the main road in the gas station area there is a 7/11 supermarket, a great coffee shop, a Thai food hall and a cake shop and just around the corner a great Western restaurant run by a Thai family.. The food here was absolutely delicious, better than I have had back home. To get to town there are the yellow bus taxis, 20 Baht, and they run every 2 or 3 mins on the main road. A point here to note is get Bob to write down the stop,The Hang Dong Post Office, in Thai and that way you have no problems at being dropped off at the wrong stop on the way out. .Bob was very helpful during my stay and organist a trip to the zip wire and bamboo rafting down the river. He is very obliging and offered advice on how to get to other places of interest. On leaving the place he even took me to the wood village which is not too far from his house. I would sat here again
