I love visiting churches and this was a nice example. It had a crypt downstairs which was interesting, some good local knowledge to be read inside and some interesting vistas to take pictures of.

I love churches and cathedrals for the architecture and this didn’t disappoint. We visited off the back of going on a Chichester harbour tour in the morning and were told about the village and also a story about crosses marked on the stones in the church by soldiers returning from the crusades. I had to have a look based on this information. I found crosses on the pillars just to the right of the main entrance and I hope the information we were given on the tour is correct as I love that we found crosses. Really enjoyed the whole village and would definitely recommend a trip to the village for a couple of hours. Parking nearby was reasonable and plenty to look at.

This is undoubtedly a historic church. How could it be otherwise bearing in mind its connection to Harold Godwinson? I understand that the Cnut connection is less proven. The exterior is impressive, the interior less so since it has been extensively enlarged and renovated over the years. I have been in several Saxon churches over the years and they are universally small and quaint. Bosham is neither. Sorry to be such a philistine.

You can’t really avoid the Holy Trinity Church is you’re heading to the quay but, of course, whether you go inside a matter for you. Even from a non religious perspective the church has interest, the Inclusion in the Bayeux Tapestry ( the copied section on display is very good) and being, allegedly, the burial place for King Canute’s daughter. The Saxon architecture is well preserved and impressive, this is after all a seriously ancient church. It’s pleasant inside, fairly small and with an understated dignity. Our first visit however if back in the vicinity would certainly go back again and if the timings worked would go for one of the Sunday services.

Loved this church. So much history in here, including the grave of the daughter of King Canute, and Bosham itself features in the bayeaux tapestry.
