Hadn’t booked , just walked in off the street with our two lurchers Peggy and tess and were made really welcome . They found us a table with plenty of room for the dogs and we ordered two roast dinners that I would describe as large portions served with a variety of fresh vegetables . Another lovely Sussex pub. Lovely smell of fresh flowers on all the tables as well .

Thank Gary D

This is a lovely pub right on the edge of the harbour. Very friendly staff. Good selection of beers.
It gets very busy so best to book a table. No parking at the pub so use the public car park a couple of hundred yards away.

We visited on a Saturday lunchtime with an 11 month old, and a gluten intolerant adult. This turned out to be no problem. We had a table upstairs, where we had plenty of room, and were provided with a high chair (already ordered when booking). The high chair was great - just the right height (so many are too low so that the baby rests their chin on the table and cannot see what is going on). The waitress who served us was fantastic. She showed just the right amount of interest in the youngster, and was tolerant of usual baby mess. She was also very aware of gluten free requirements and the pub keeps separate fryers for this purpose. We really felt welcome (so much so, my wife and I immediately booked for Easter Sunday lunch for the two of us). Just as important, and certainly not to be overshadowed, the food was great. We might have only ordered baguettes and pies (and gluten free chips), but these were substantial meals in themselves, and very tasty. We also had a lovely view over the sea at Bosham - idealic really. All staff that we encountered were very personable and welcoming.

Only stopped for a drink and light meal. Sat out on the terrace in the cool breeze. Must return when it's warm because the pub is full of character
