Was very crowded..our family of 4 couldn't get 4 towels together and we were there by 11am. Moved north up the beach after a while, up near where the volleyball courts were set-up....could finally lay out together.

Great beach with white sand and nice bars but could be very busy on hot sunny days!

Traffic at busy time is horrible!

Very cozy beach with a lot of bars and services, of course good also for surfing. A lot of young people enjoying the sun. About 30/40 mins from
Lisbon city centre I advise to go there for a break also while visiting the city, half day there is nice. If you don’t want to use public transport with Uber is about 20€ not bad

Large beach easily accessible from Lisbon city centre - take the train from Cais do Sodre for only € 1,95 one way. The beach is a ten minute walk from the Carcavelos train station. Very large with a lot of restaurants.

As being quite picky person, personally I don’t like Carcavelos. I been there several times. There is some nice restaurants along the beach side which worth to visit. For me it is too simple. Good for surfers. Too much crowded. Unfortunately can’t remember the names. Did not write down all the names. Now looking back should have to do it. That what was beautiful is sunset. What can enjoy in any beach.
Reccomend Tamaris beach in Estoril, it is smaller. Or go to Tamariz pool. It is not far also, so as the train going to Carcavelos its going to Estoril and stopping on the beach. Very simple and fast access.
