Fantastic night in spite of the cold wind; the music, colour & atmosphere was amazing. The re-enactments were the part I enjoyed the most.

We heard of the Highland Military Tattoo in Inverness just that day from another American tourist and decided to go at the last minute. Fortunately there were "cheap seat" tickets still available! You could tour throught the Fort and Military Museaum before the show and excellent food and drink was offered by food trucks inside the fort. Our seats were at the very top of the bleachers that offered an excellent view of this extravaganza! There was a bi-plane show, Culloden, WWI and WWII reenactments where they projected images on to the barracks of Fort George. The bagpipes were spine tingling, the highland dancers fantastic and the whole show had to rival the much more expensive Edinburgh Tattoo in August. I highly recommend anyone to schedule this show instead! Do take your umbrella, rain gear and warm coats!

The Tattoo was great full of colour, history and information. great choice of music and amazingly skilled performers.being able to walk around the fort prior to the show was very interesting and added to the event. leaving the event by car was well organised and efficient.
My only criticism is that there are plenty of choices of food vendors, but no seats available once you have purchased your food! A very kind gentleman allowed us to borrow 2 seats from the hospitality tent and put out a few more, but without him eating our food would have been an uncomfortable and messy experience.

The pomp, pageantry, performance, precision of this presentation is second to none. How can so many bagpipers sound and march in perfect unity? A once in a lifetime experience.

We've been to The Highland Military Tattoo in 2015 & 2016. As I had been to The Edinburgh Tattoo I thought this one would be mediocre. It isn't at all. We had our grandchildren with us, they loved it! Great atmosphere. But make sure you wear warm clothes, it's cold at the barracks, we had wind jackets and warm scarves. This venue looks as if it's improving every year. Well done.
