I stayed with my family for two nights and had a great time. Room was clean and comfortable. We drove into DC each day and it was about a 15 minute drive without traffic. Loved the location of National Harbor as it is an escape from DC and feels like you are in a resort area simialr to downtown Disney. Restaurants were very pricey, but you can take a boat ride across the Potomac to Old Alexandria which was wonderful although the boat ride was $70 round trip for three adults and two children, but it was really fun. Hotel pool is quite small and can get very crowded, but considering you will probably be in DC most of the day it was not a big deal. Parking is in a garage across the street, hotel charged $30 for two nights worth of parking, but I paid myself at the garage and it was only $18 not sure what was up with that. All in all a great stay and lots of fun for the whole family.
We arrived by train to D.C. Took Metro to King Street Station where we had to wait almost an hour for the "free" shuttle. The unit had chips in the bathtub and furniture had many, many deep scratches. We were pestered about buying a timeshare even though we told the representative that because of medical problems that this was probably the last vacation we would be taking. I want to be on vacation and not be bothered with things that I neither want nor will use.
