This is a good and typical country pub with an excellent choice of real ales. Bar snacks at lunchtime were good and tasty, and satisfying for a group of hungry walkers.

Small pub, traditional. the car park is small so be prepared to park road side on country lane, we have many times with no issues. Enter through the bar firstly, were pets are welcome. Open fires for warmth and cosy feel. Lovely home cooked food. Friendly welcome and service, excellent value for money.

Another trip down memory lane, not far from where I used to work Eons Ago, It a place that I always drove past, and never been in. So we decided to give it a go.

Dont go by appearances, its a old pub, and its very pubby in a old pubby sought of way, and its like going back to the 70,s. Full of locals. And its getting on for the potteries, so its not like snobby south cheshire, a friendly bunch, with dogs. Booked a table for three, overlooking a set of old trees in a field, Would have been mint but its Easter and wet and cold (Who would expect Easter to be so wet in England - slap wrist).

Anhoo to the best bit the food and service are excellent. I Had the Duck Balls Starter, Its a very odd looking thing, three small Scotch Egg type things spring onions on a dollop of what looks like marmalade, But bloody Nora its good, it just works on all levels. My partner and eldest had a excellent soup with a great lump of bread. (Big portion of)

I had the mixed grill, and how may places serve it with kidneys and liver, Droolsville Arizona!!!, Kidneys that just melt in you mouth. Small piece of steak, but again just right, and quality aged stuff. Excellent. Well done!!

My partner had the steak and ale pie, a individual one, but very big with very thin crust, as it should be. none of this puffy stuff. Home made chips. Which my eldest snaffled. She had the veggie option. Very large portion, even she could not finish (One of those types thin as a pipe cleaner, Eats for England)

And serves Piltsner Erqell, on draught in their own pint pot. Wibble!!!!

Slight gripe, a bit limited on veggie stuff, my eldest is a Vegan.

Could not fit a sweet in. Portions are very good. Going back soon

Cozy traditional country pub, friendly locals and always a warm welcome from the excellent staff. Good selection of Ales, a roaring open fire, dog friendly and amazing food. Why would we go anywhere else?

Although staff were friendly ordered two baguettes with beef and chip portion. Served with two (very)thick slices of bread with beef and red onions which was covered in a sweet sauce. Chips were burnt and small portion. Pub itself needs some refurbishment appeared run down.To be fair did offer to replace food but said it would taste same except with baguette so no real point.
