I was initially reluctant to visit having been told this was off road and up a steep track not suitable for most cars, however TripAdvisor helped dispell that myth and in fact my hired Toyata Avensis made it up there without a problem. I mean yea a 4x4 would have been more comfy and less of a bone rattler but it was worth having your bones shaken for. Set high above the sea, with clear views across the Akamas gorge and out across the Med and the National Park / area of beauty. This is a simple family run restarurant, and there were generations of them on hand for our visit from Mama to a young boy carrying trays to the tables with a huge smile. They offer BBQ chicken and or pork (choose the mixed and savour both), a generous bowl of fresh village salad and the most amazing home made chips / potato wedges and that is your lot. Simple offerings but the quality and the cooking of that meat is second to none I have ever tasted. How do they BBQ so well??? And they definitely do BBQ because you see the huge BBQ pit as you walk up the floral lined path to the restaurant space. The pork was succulent and so tasty, like imagine the best pork belly you have ever tasted, which melts in your mouth and the chicken? Well no pink, slimey meat here at all. Beautifully crispy skinned chicken with tender white juicy meat. We had a Keo shandy, a local beer, to wash it down and we savoured every single mouthful. The setting is idyllic, under a huge canopy of grapevines, there were children picking the plump red grapes off the vine and eating them. It is all under shade with a welcome breeze blowing through off the sea. Excellent value for money. Only open 11:00 to 5pm and booking advised.
