Slight problem on arrival in that they did not have the rooms available that we had booked, however with just a few minutes to wait matter was resolved, though we were told they had given us a significant upgrade. Our room was excellent just a few minor issues with some lights not working, however this was generally resolved when a very nice man from the maintenance team arrived to do the fixing.
The staff throughout this stay were particularly significant, very friendly, very helpful. The shortage of teaspsoons at breakfast was highlighted with the restaurant manager and next morning teaspoons were abundant.
Breakfast was overwhelming, ample to meet every taste and very hard to make choices. Hard to imagine how anyone could complain about the quantity or the variety on offer.
Breakfast on the warm and sunny terrace was a highlight.
Evening meals, we only had a few in the hotel, the quality and quantity was very good, though perhaps limited variety from one day to the next, understandable when catering for so many, and we were happy to eat out on some evenings.
The hotel is very well appointed, comfortable, easy access to the beach, but with a very good swimming pool with and indoor pool that we did not use.
Our room was in a great location with direct access to garden and beach with our own patio that was also in a quiet location.
All in all a great experience and one we would have no hesitation in visiting again.

We wanted a week away in the sun out of season.
As huge fans of Cyprus I was delighted to find this hotel in Coral Bay that fit the bill. It is one of the few areas we had never visited.
We were absolutely delighted with our sea view room, the views were wonderful.
The room was cleaned daily to a high standard. There is plenty of wardrobe space and a free safe. We didn’t use the minibar but it was stocked.
Whilst we are not well versed in many all inclusive offerings I have to say we were absolutely delighted with the choice and beautifully presented fresh food. Meat and fish dishes rivalled some of the local restaurants we visited.
I was disappointed that some of the themed restaurants were closed. This was not noted when I booked and my email to request a booking for my husbands birthday before we arrived, was never acknowledged. Had I had this knowledge I would have been armed to plan something special in advance.
There was a small waiter service restaurant housing about 20 tables. This is at no cost other than speciality wines. It provided a nice environment but I did prefer the food we had in the general restaurant. Yanninis is very much the frontman for service, greeting clients in the lobby, restaurant and being available around the complex in the day. I observed the way in which he supported, advised and generally led people, it was a good image for the hotel. A lovely young man who does add value to the team.
We discovered one of the buffet restaurants was adult only and this suited us.
Dress code and child friendly were loosely followed. People were not challenged and did abuse this request.
Drinks were generous and we were pleasantly surprised by the selection included.
The Pool Barman is amazing. He was quick, efficient and pleasant.
We couldn’t fault any of the team who were friendly, efficient and attentive.
Kids filling the indoor pool and under age in the gym was off putting. I didn’t get to exercise as I had hoped.
The area wasn’t really what we like so we stayed around the complex other than hiring a car and touring the coast and into the Troodos Mountains.
Weather was mixed but the staff managed every situation supporting guests, it was good to see. The staff cleared public areas with speed and efficiency. No one would have known there had been storms other than the sky.
Animation team - two friendly lads offered 4/5 daytime activities but were never pushy. They then managed evening events which were fun but never in your face.
We probably won’t return just because the area doesn’t interest us and we do like to get out and about. However, I have already recommended the hotel to families it is super.

MY REVIEW WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO INFILL RATINGS

SERVICE 5. LOCATION 4. CLEANLINESS 5

Room Tip: Sea view for sure

One of the oldest and the largest hotel and resort in Coral Bay, Paphos. Need a renovation to return to its glory.
Have visited the hotel with the family. It was renovated most recently and have a fresh look. Has its own pool, good sandy beach (unfortunately not cleaned from seaweed, after the most recent storm) which is a great addition to vacation at the sea, as Paphos has a limited selection of sandy beaches. It is also the last stop for the bus from the centre of Paphos, which is also counted as a great advance, making the commute to all destinations chip and fast.

This large hotel is well situated and tries hard to please. Gardens and pool area very good. Hotel is a bit dated but rooms were clean and comfortable.
On a fully exclusive deal , information about what was and was not included were not clear enouugh.
Niggles were that 4 of the plug sockets in the bedroom were blanked off and one behing the bedside table was broken. The impact of this was there were two 3 pin square pin sockets in the room which were being used by the hair dryer and fridge, so to charge a phone or table one had to go under furniture to remove one appliance.
Plenty of choice at all three meals but food a little bland, hot options were never hot. Warm to luke warm and on some occassions stone cold. To be fair there was an option to eat in another area of the resteraunt and have a set menu. However the menu for this was posted daily and with limited availability which meant it was fully booked early each day. We only managed to eat there once although we tried 3 times. Food was hot here. Beach area was untidy and a 2 ft wall of seaweed excluded use of the beach. We were outide the formal "season" which prpbably explains this. Kiddies area looked good although it was also not open at the time we visited. Only 2 of the 4 resteraunts on site were open. While one or two of the staff did not pay attention in the customer care training the vast majority were polite, efficient and helpful.
Again because we were out of season there was no information at all about other things to do. The Local Tourist information centre had not delivered them yet.
Take an extension lead.

We now live on Cyprus and booked the hotel so that we could visit friends staying in the hotel for the week. We last stayed in the hotel in 1996 (3 years after it first opened). The resort has expanded a bit since then and so has the Hotel.

The rooms are well decorated but the hotel is showing its age around the edges (scuffed walls, stained carpets). The staff are friendly and very helpful and we had a relaxing time however, the hotel has now moved into the world of all inclusive and we were offered, on arrival the opportunity to upgrade at the cost of 40 euros per person (this would have cost us 240 EUROS for two days (3 adults in our party). We decided not to and as I suspected purchase prices were grossly inflated; 1 x pint of KEO larger 4.90, 200 yards away in the local pub 2.40! and a vodka and coke, a whopping 7.50. The drinks were of a poor quality and were sent back, flat coke and a flat beer. This is a cheap trick and will most likely result in me advising others about the costs at the bar and those of the all inclusive armband!

In addition, if I am a resident (but not all inclusive) why do I have to pay for the sauna? Do you really want my business are we just too small a target audience?

Sad quirks to an enjoyable stay. The chaps working the pool deserve medals they never stop!

Room Tip: visit the local taverns and pay half the price.

Dear jamesbob,

Thank you for taking some of your valuable time to write this review and for your kind feedback on our service which is one of the main pillars of our hospitality.

Please allows us to disagree with your comments and inform you that the hotel has been renovated three (3) times since 1996. The carpets have been replaced by Greek marble or parquet flooring and furniture has been replaced both in rooms as well as in all public areas.

Regarding beer prices, please note that these are in line with the rates of a 5-star hotel and cannot be compared to the respective rates of a pub.

We thank you once again and should you decide to visit us again, we will be pleased to welcome you to the Coral Beach Hotel & Resort.
