If you want to be right on Diani beach and enjoy a resort lifestyle go to Leopard Beach Resort.
It is a lovely old resort with stunning clifftop ocean views, beautiful tropical garden features, bars, restaurants, two private beach areas, a large pool and plenty of chillout nooks.
This is a large resort and despite hosting a wedding and being full, it didn’t feel over crowded.
At a very high tide it is cut off from its neighbours and roaming beach vendors.
At low tide the reef is on your doorstep. Take reef shoes, explore and interact with local characters. Walk for hours along the beach in either direction.
The water was refreshing, not at all cold, and even warm in the shallows of low tide.
We stayed on a half board basis which enabled us to eat at the hotel buffet restaurant. It was generous with a good selection of fresh and cooked options.
One of my favourite things was the included high tea from 4-5pm each day with fresh pancakes!
The service was good and the hospitality was warm.
I would recommend the resort for relaxation at a reasonable price.
It is a short cab ride from Ukunda airstrip which cost 400 Kenyan Shillings (approximately USD4) each way.More
