A lovely ten days at this friendly hotel. the pool, never very full, was brilliant for a swim and our spacious junior suite was comfortable and clean. Good shower. breakfast is buffet style but there is plenty if you want it. Greek/barbecue night was great fun - I don't usually like joining in with such activities as dancing but I loved it. All staff were helpful and the pool bar serves reasonable varied food. I recommend the pancakes with honey and cinnamon!

Just returned from a week at the Petros. We booked with Jet 2 last minute so we knew what level to set our expectations. Very clean hotel, very polite staff, decent breakfast reasonable pool area although likely to be cramped high season. We spent very little time there other than to wash and sleep as we spent every day at the beach. A few points - air conditioning is not included in your holiday cost it's an additional £56 a week. You will need it June / July / Aug and early Sept as by mid June it's already 30 every day and there is little relief at night even though temperatures drop a little. The beds are extremely hard - to be honest most holiday beds are - so be prepared to get up on the morning feeling like you have slept on the floor. The shower curtain is on some kind of windmill contraption and it's very difficult to have a shower without flooding the floor. Other than that all good and as I've said you get what you pay for. I've stayed in worse for more money. Generally a good budget choice and if the bed was slightly more comfy I'd go back.
The hotel is on the side of a road. It's not hugely busy a bit like a B road in the UK but Greek drivers on motorbikes seem to think it's brands hatch screeching past at high speed. If you keep the windows closed and have air con, traffic noise shouldn't bother you if you gey a room at the front. The beach is a reasonable 20 min walk away via the town - the paths at the sides of the road are not continuous and at busy times pedestrians do have to take good care as they are very narrow. We went to the beach every day as there was a lovely breeze which made the heat more relaxing. We chose sunbeds next to Tsilivi Water Sports and the Venus beach bar as they were covered with thick pads which made sunbathing more comfortable and the food at the Venus beach bar was superb. Best burger I've had in years! Sunbeds are 7 euros for 2 for the day including umbrella so a very reasonable price. All in all a lovely holiday - we booked 5 days before we travelled, flights were good, we weren't expecting any more than we got in terms of accommodation and all in all it was acceptable / what we were expecting. Suggest travellers use Trip advisor to pick where they eat as we had some really poor food in some of the restaurants.

DO NOT stay at Hotel Petros in Silivi Zante. Myself and Lee had a fantastic holiday with some amazing friends but if it wasn’t for them and the gorgeous Abbie becoming Mrs French our holiday would’ve been awful. The room we had wasn’t ready, and when it was we were in for a shock! There was a mouldy takeaway carton of chip and possibly kebab with an open pot of sauce under the spare bed which was still there when we checked out. There were strange scorch looking marks up two walls from the sockets onto a light switch. We had a kettle and two cups, but no spoon or a bin to place any spoiled tea bags (that were not supplied). We were sold a “garden view” and we thought it would be peaceful. We ended up with a piece of dried up dirt, a broken plant pot, a disused sign, and a hosepipe as our view. We were on the ground floor almost against the main road (there was no footpath between) and people walking past could see into our room and were dumping unwanted drinks and litter on our balcony wall as they went past. The traffic was loud and echoed through our room being so close to the road. One day we woke to find we had no power, but we couldn’t get washed and dressed with the door open for light because people can see directly in, so we had to attempt this in the dark. After four hours it was restored and we were told it was shut off by mistake by a maintenance guy, but there was no apology. We were attending a wedding until 2am but there were no “Do Not Disturb” signs to put up when we got back, so at 10am I got woken up by the maid talking loudly to someone outside the door then she just walks in, without even knocking! We left the maid in our room at 10:30am to return at 12:00 after “breakfast” to find her still in there and all she’d done is change the bin! The room was how we’d left it and the floors were still dirty.
I walked to reception to notice it was unmanned with every guests passports lined up along the back table. Completely open for anyone to steal! I walked past next day to see this was not a one off! The pool was very pleasant but there was no shower to wash off excess shower cream or sweat and you could see the oil floating on the surface. Our shower head had so much limescale in it that only a few of the holes had any water coming out of them. We also noticed that our smoke detector had been removed and put on a table. The battery had been disconnected and just left there.
When we checked out we were handed a “tax bill” that we must pay on departure. An overnight tax that the government say we have to give them, but she said she can’t give it to us on arrival? It must be on checkout. We were not told about this before the holiday or upon arrival. Luckily we had money left, but I wonder what happens to the people who can’t then afford to pay this tax on their last day?! I strongly advise you AVOID this hotel. However Jet2holidays flight service was brilliant. The plane was tidy, cabin crew polite and the inflight meals were surprisingly good for plane food. If we return to Zante again, we won’t use Hotel Petros again!!

Dear madame,
Thank you for your review. If the situation is as you discribe it, why you didnt complain at least once during your stay ? Why you never complained to jet 2 holiday rep ? He s always available in every common area of Petros hotel.
I find no reason to answer to any of your claims as its clearly visible where you target.
Good luck!!!!

We came for May half term and we were pleasantly surprised with how modern our room was. It was in a new block at the back. It was very clean too.
The staff were helpful and friendly especially the cleaners. One lady even helped us with our bags when we arrived.
It’s ten minutes into the centre and twenty to the beach which was fine for the time of year.
Air con is an extra charge but our room was very cool so we didn’t need it.
I would certainly return here.
A lovely stay.
