Just returned from a wonderful week in Frances' villa. Initial enquiries dealt with swiftly, no problems with booking process. Villa as shown, area around pool very generous, sun/shade all day. Villa v clean & tidy, comfy beds, best bathroom's we've experienced in Greece (no plastic shower curtains joining in!) very good welcome pack - water, milk, orange juice, eggs, bacon, bread, beers, soft drinks - plus ouzo & carafe of red wine. Maid came in the day before we were leaving- perhaps just her regular day, as we did Tuesday to Tuesday.
We managed the walk down the slope to the Cafeneon opposite - Cafe Platanos. Vista from the balcony at the rear to die for, generous drinks & lovely ambience. We then wobbled across the road to Liza's taverna - the best "proper" Greek taverna we've had the pleasure to visit in many years, really good traditional food, and a great atmosphere. We have to say the combination of the 2 helped to make our holiday.
We have just returned from a week at villa Kokili. It was an amazing break. The villa was very clean, comfortable and spacious. There was fantastic air conditioning in the bedrooms which was much appreciated as the weather was so hot. Our sheets and towels were changed halfway through our stay and bathrooms cleaned which was great. The pool was fantastic. Big enough to have a proper swim and beautifully maintained. It was cleaned twice during our weeks stay. The furniture around the pool was very comfortable and easy to move around to gain shade when the sun was at its hottest. In fact the outside space was such a draw it was hard to leave and explore the beaches!
We ate our evening meal out in various tavernas and ate lunch in the villa. A lovely big fridge meant we could stock up on basics. Frances directed us to the supermarket ( Petros )where we were able to buy fresh fruit and veg, local cheese, sausages and drinks ... In fact everything you need including a lilo! ..and the well equipped kitchen made it easy to cook. The welcome pack was excellent. We really appreciated the thought put into it... Bacon, eggs, bread, butter, milk, jam, a few little boxes of cereal, water, wine and ouzo.
We fell in love with the area. Lourdata is a friendly village. It felt totally suitable for us with two young children. The road leading up from the main road is quite steep and somewhat gravelly. We hired a car which we were glad of as walking any distance in the height of summer in Greece is a challenge.
We found Liza's bar and grill just at the bottom of the hill leading up to the villa a real treasure. It's a small taverna with the best food we ate in Kefalonia. Liza looked after us so beautifully as did the other lovely lady who worked there. Our children were welcomed and loved the food too.
From booking to leaving Villa Kokili Frances was available to help with any questions we had.
We would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to return soon!
Love this area and Frances Findlay always provides well presented and clean accommodation. Our third time staying here and will be back next year.
We realy enjoyed the stay at the villa Kokili, a great place if you want to explore the southern part of Kefalonia, with many beautiful beaches. We were able to enjoy the services of Frances the second time now, it seems we will definetively do it again.
This accomodation definetively deserves a five star rating but a little more shade would be welcome, anyway, the beautiful, well maintained swimming pool well compensated for the heat.

What an amazing Villa, the directions given by the owner where very straight forward to follow, excellent communication from start of booking to wonderful surprise of a fabulous welcome pack.
The Villa itself is spotless inside and out, the pool area was extremely cleaned and was maintained by a very friendly pool man, who recommended some lovely places to eat. We also had our beds changed and towels replaced which I wasn't expecting, but really grateful.
I would highly recommend this Villa, it suited myself and hubby and 2 girls (aged 13 & 9) it is well equipped for cooking and eating and also socialising (we had family over there at the same time!)
The village itself is beautiful and there are lots of lovely tavernas to eat & drink.
All in all, go ahead and book, you certainly won't be disappointed!
