Stayed here for 6 nights in october, just lost my dad and the break did me a power of good. The place was wonderful, Azinhal was beautiful, with 3 great bars, and a cake shop that was hard to refuse!, not good when your diabetic. The house itself was fab, cozy, not too small, with all you could need. The pool was clean and tidy, nice touch with the plastic duck, just needs new loungers. Plenty to see and do are short drive away, even the ferry to Spain. For the more adventurous, the poulo de lobo was stunning, as was the atlantic coast, water was a wee but cool, but gorgeous views. As Arnie said, i'll be back
Stayed here for a week in October and enjoyed every moment of it. The house is beautiful, resplendent in Portuguese charm and character. There are three bedrooms, dining room, kitchen and a big bathroom with the added bonus of an outside shower and toilet.
The saltwater pool is fantastic and showed a water temperature of 21 deg after a long hot summer.
There are nature trails everywhere about and you can walk for miles or down to the river (Guadiana) or up to Odeleite and return for a refreshing swim.
The village itself has a small supermarket, two bars and morning delivery of bread and fish. Castro Marim is ten minutes away and has all you would every need for shopping.
Karen, the owner, is very helpful and I can honestly say that in the dozen or so times we have visited the Eastern Algarve this has been the best !
