Ancient Temple and considered to be very powerful. Heavily crowded most of the time but there are some window period during the year, like, monsoon time, just before or after a festival season. Preferable to visit during those time. Make sure you sacrifice your sleep and visit the temple at 5am so as to get good "darshan". There are a number of deity around the temple complex and make sure from which side you have entered as there are 4 entrances and from inside all looks similar. Despite catering to such huge crowds the temple is fairly clean and the locales are also very helpful. Do not bring your car as parking is an issue and no video/photography is allowed, although the security is not so strict as I saw some people taking photographs in the temple.
Overall a kind of "holistic" experience.
