“Lovely”
Reviewed 21 October 2018 for a stay in October 2018

Absolutely loved our stay at this cottage. It’s in a quiet area and had all we needed for our stay. the large bed upstairs was super comfy. towels clean as was the bedding. no lack of facilities here, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, cooker. the beach was minutes away and was very clean and even better, it was dog friendly. a nearby cafe served excellent food to suit all and welcomed our dog as well. We will definitely be back!

“Dreadful experience ”
Reviewed 20 October 2018 for a stay in October 2018

Where do I start?
Well first of all the contact numbers given belong to people who no longer work for Carl so we were left without any help.
Day one arrived at the cottage to find paint peeling and obvious signs of damp.
Couldn’t use the tv because apparently the previous visitors dog had eaten the remote!
The place was cold so rather than sitting in the cold and gloom went to bed at 9pm the first night.
The heating was coming on at random times during the night with a radiator just behind my head in bed so waking me up all night. I found the boiler and saw that the timer control just fell off in my hand.
Tried to report to HomeAway the following day as there was no other contact but nobody seemed to be able to contact the owner.
Eventually found a tiny scrap of paper on the kitchen windowsill with a name and number so rang that and found it was the current cleaner who tried to be helpful.
We had also paid an extra £17.99 for internet only to find it had parental controls on it so could not access social media or anything else we may wish to.
The third night was the final straw. Whilst making a slice of toast the electricity blew and we were plunged into darkness. No candles or torch to be found so once again it was bed at 9pm.
Needless to say we called it quits and left for home after 3 nights instead of the 7 we had paid for.
I’ve left it a couple of weeks before writing this to see if we would get any compensation for a ruined holiday or at least an apology but nothing!
I have noted that on previous reviews the owner has said that he doesn’t recognise them as guests but let me assure you I was there, I have photos of the damp walls and screenshots of my payment details. I don’t usually write scathing reviews but feel so angry to be disregarded in this way that I feel I have to prevent others from wasting their precious holidays here.

Dear Chrissie, We are extremely alarmed by your feedback regarding the issues you experienced during your stay with us, We have never had such a review before and have looked into these issues with immediate effect. So thank you for bringing them to our attention. As you will see from our previous guest reviews, all are extremely positive and guest comfort is our priority. Fisherman’s cottage is very popular with guests coming from all around the world and I am pleased to confirm that the boiler timer issue and the TV remote have all be replaced and now in excellent working order and the WiFi system has been restored for standard use.
I appreciate that we cannot get it right all of the time but hope that now we have addressed the issues you kindly raised, you will be pleased with your next stay at Fisherman’s Cottage. With Kindest regards Carl

Just back from a four night break to this beautiful cottage.
From the moment we stepped inside we knew we would be comfortable & perfectly at home.
It had everything we could wish for & more.
The most comfortable bed we have ever slept in (& the biggest)
Just perfect.
Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home from home.
