What more could you want than to sit on a deck out over the water with views across the Mar Menor while having a quiet drink or some food.

We were staying at a nearby hotel and looking for somewhere to while away an hour before dinner. We were lucky to secure a nice sunny table right at the front edge of the deck. We only had a couple of beers and some nuts, but we thoroughly enjoyed sitting there. The food looked pretty good, too. It is certainly a very popular place and next time I think we will go back for dinner.

We wondered around trying to find a place to have dinner after a drink on the beach, many places had closed for the season. My husband didn't want to listen to the live Mariachi band so we decided to try Balneario San Antonio and so happy we did. Best service we had on our whole trip. They had a flat rate dinner option but you could also order off an extensive menu. Food was delicious and you couldn't beat the view. They offered us a lovely limoncello after dinner drink.

Having previously had a poor evening meal here we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and returned for a drink with the intention of maybe having some lunch. We asked where we could sit but the waiter just grunted and walked off. After about 10 minutes he returned and took our drinks order. Whilst waiting for our drinks to arrive we noticed some of the restaurant staff still in full uniform merrily helping there selves to lunch whilst ourselves and other paying guests around us continued to wait for drinks and food. We finished our drinks and waited at least 20 minutes before having to get someone’s attention to bring us the bill as we had already decided to give lunch a miss here and eat somewhere else. We found it hard to believe when we were told that this establishment is owned by the same people who own La Encarnacion and if it is maybe the owners should pay it a visit. We would not return to San Antonio or recommend!
