We stayed here last year and thought that as the owner said on Trip Advisor a bathroom upgrade was planned for last autumn, the main thing we disliked first time around would have been sorted. It wasn't.
This time we felt the place had gone down hill. It's only a personal opinion, but there we are. Our main issues were the pungent 'wet dog' aroma, the coloured stains on both the cream lounge seat and on the well used bed settee mattress protector; also the loo 'breaking' and the increasing sense that the place could generally benefit from some attention. The (very pleasant) owners make heavy use of a door near to the bedroom - it would really help to put some quiet closure fittings onto it.
Very well equipped apartment, clean and spacious . Walks on doorstep to woods and river and only a couple of minutes to village, owners very helpful and pleasant . We're made very welcome in forresters arms with our dog which is always a bonus to find a dog friendly pub. Would like to return to grassington and would use apartment again
I can thoroughly recommend this accommodation if you are looking for a compact one bedroom flat/apartment close to the centre of Grassington with a car parking space and with a lovely view cross a valley. The owners, who live in the adjacent house, could not have been friendlier.
We enjoyed our short stay in this compact, modern, first floor flat. We had visited the area to attend the local music festival, so we weren't walkers or sun worshippers. There is no garden for the latter anyway.
The external flight of stone steps is relatively steep for anyone with troubled hips, but there's a welcome seat at the top of them to recover whilst enjoying the rural view - including sheep, a horse and - curiously - a cement mixer!
There were three of us staying, and the one bedroom flat is advertised for up to four. We found the space adequate for our party, but as the owner pointed out, the bed settee needs a layer added to it to make it comfy.
We are fussy folk, as we have been in the high end accommodation lettings industry for years, so the fact we liked the flat meant that it was of a good standard of accommodation. However, well used accommodation (this has a significant history of regular and repeat rental) needs continuous maintenance, and we noted that the bathroom grouting needs attention, there were chipped mugs, and we never did locate the bottle opener! The decor was overall in good and clean condition. The only other observation was that the large rug on the parquet-style lounge-diner floor lacked anti-slip webbing - which I discovered to my cost!
The owners were friendly and we appreciated their interest in our stay. We would like to visit this conveniently-located, and reasonably priced apartment again.
We booked for 3 nights as we were taking part in the Oxfam Trailtrekker in nearby Skipton.
The apartment is only a few minutes walk from nearby Grassington village which has numerous nice pubs and cafes.
Communication with owner was brilliant, would definitely recommend.
