The large picture window in the lounge gave amazing views across to Mull and islands beyond, with constantly-changing sea and skies, and promise of wildlife. We saw dolphins on our first morning, and otters on the shore.
The cottage is spacious, well equipped and very evidently a family home. It lies within five minutes' walk of the village store and we enjoyed living on local produce for the week. The house manager lives nearby and is very helpful. The Kilchoan blog lists daily wildlife sightings and events. On the down side, décor and furnishings were quite tired and old-fashioned, with carpets and rugs visibly worn, and another time we would take our own towels. The third bedroom, with single bed and bunks, would be fine for young children but not ideal for single occupancy as no bedside table or storage.
