Alan speaks great english, and was very helpful whenever we asked questions. I painted twice from the property because the view was so great! The restaurant on the rooftop deck Pappa e cena, is 4 1/2 stars, and was amazing!

Room tip: ask for a room with a view

I spent 5 nights here with my partner and we were really impressed with our time at Villa Schiatti. Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially recommending somewhere to eat on the first night as it was public holiday. Rooms are simple and rustic but have all the amenities and were what we expected. It has air-con and we slept well, even though the air-con was a little loud and we couldn't have it on at night so the room got a little hot at times. It is a beautiful place with a really good pool and fantastic views. As you walk up to the venue, it has been done really nicely with places to sit outside and the restaurant is on the terrace so you can appreciate those views while having a lovely meal. The restaurant is now separately run from the hotel and serves gorgeous food but a little pricey for us. Breakfast is served in a lovely room where you can see the views and the food is what you'd expect on the continent. The staff at breakfast are very friendly and were on hand to make fresh coffee if we wanted and always ensured food was not running low. The villa is not far from Cortona, Castiglion Fiorintino and Arezzo and we had a great few days out exploring the area. It wasn't busy and we could appreciate the architecture and food. We would recommend hiring a car. This is lovely place for a short break and we really enjoyed our stay!

The Maitre’D, Aleen, and his team went out of their way to give my friends and I a truly unforgettable experience. Their attention to detail, the food, customer service, the setting, the pool ..... everything was just perfect. Thank you for your wonderful welcome and for your sense of humour.

We have just returned from a weekend at Villa Schiatti. Just beautiful - villa, scenery, location but most of all the Italian experience provided by the staff, the wonderful Aleen amd his team. The meals were beautiful and the efforts that went into the setting, the attention to their guests, their relaxed and welcoming manner and the whole atmosphere of the villa was just exceptional.

This villa was the perfect scenery for a long weekend in the Tuscan countryside. It’s location gives you the perfect vantage point of the beautiful landscapes. The villa is very old (dating back many centuries) and has an antique bed and breakfast atmosphere.

Pros: breakfast served daily in the dining room, elevator, clean rooms, bidet, air conditioning, bar next to dining room, mini bar fridge in room, 15 min drive to Cortona, friendly/helpful/bilingual staff. The villa has a beautiful terrace with incredible views as well as several outdoor seating areas and a pool with sun beds. We also saw that hey had bikes that guests could probably borrow. Also, they have a delicious restaurant on site which we went to for dinner called “Papa e Cena.” Highly recommend it!

Cons: poor WiFi connection (we were on the second floor; WiFi only worked downstairs), old uncomfortable mattress, shower head needs to be updated (hot water takes a long time and poor water pressure). During our short stay, they were hosting a very large wedding on site (approx 150 people). This was inconvenient because there was no parking for hotel guests and the noise level was loud well into the night. When booking, you may want to ask if there will be a wedding during your trip dates since it is a popular wedding venue.
