“Quite exceptional”

We arrived for the Glastonbury Festival weekend to be welcomed by Nigel, ( the owner) his family , their lovely little dog "Milly" and 3 very affectionate cats onto a beautifully kept, farm-of-old with all the characteristics of a by-gone era. Quite sublime !!
I originated from a dairy farm childhood and it was akin to a very warm "step-back-in-time" moment. From the occasional crow of a cockerel , the mooing of the cows in a neighboring field awaiting milking to the owls in the trees after dark....... no road traffic noise to be heard , lovely !
Then the 2 cottages that we occupied, WOW, STUNNING and so so comfortable. A proper farmhouse experience with the open living accommodation to the creaky floorboards and a superbly modernized refurbishment. Nothing was left to chance and every comfort was catered for. The other reviews say so much that I'm not going to repeat whats already been said, suffice to say that they exceeded expectation in each and every department. The only sad bit is that we really wanted to sample their home-made cheese but never had the opportunity........... Next time we will..promise !
Thank you to you all for a very emotional and memorable stay and we really hope that we can visit and stay again.
Fondest wishes to you all
Chris and Barbara Morgan

“Exceeded Expectations”
Reviewed 5 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed for three weeks, from 16 April to 6 May 2016. While within reasonable driving distance of Wells, Bath, Plymouth, Portsmouth and Tintagel, if you enjoy country living and quiet, this is the place. We were four adults comprising two couples. With two private bedrooms and attached bathrooms upstairs, we had all the privacy we needed. The modern downstairs living room, kitchen/dining area and laundry room are spacious and well organized. You wake every morning with a beautiful view of the Glastonbury Tor from several windows. If you feel up to it, there is a marked foot path to the Tor but be ready for a walk of a couple of miles round trip. The proprietors are responsive but also steeped in local history of the area and very welcoming. The farm has been in the family for three generations. Clark and Anita Jones

“Peaceful location”

We were very pleased with Applebarn. Very modern with a contemporary finish, exposed beams, tiled floors downstairs and soft carpets upstairs. All in as new condition throughout. Really comfortable beds. Very spacious inside and outside. Good views of Glastonbury Tor. Well away from the road, very peaceful. Lovely owners, Nigel and Jean who made us feel very welcome. My daughter enjoyed playing with the kitten, "Fudge", who kept her entertained. She also enjoyed the tennis. We wouldn't hesitate to come back.

“Good but the barking dog!!!”
Reviewed 18 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The accommodation is excellent. Hot tub good but not attended too so green by the end of the week if you have small children. Nothing is left for you to attend to the hot tub. The worst aspect of the place is that the dog is kenneled overnight about 15m away from your bedroom window and it barks from dusk til dawn. Be warned and take ear plugs.

Thank you for your feedback. We change the water in the Hot Tub every time we have new guests staying with us. Should our guests have any concerns about the hot tub or anything else during their stay, we will be more than happy to help. We do not like to leave hot tub chemicals in Applebarn but will be happy to check the hot tub and add them as necessary. We have since moved the dog (Millie) out of her kennel as she is now getting older, so there should be no barking at night. Jean, Millie’s owner was away at the time so she may have been a little unsettled. The kennel now seems to be used by our cats, Gizmo and Smudge. We do listen to the feedback from our guests and do our very best to make things better.
