Up on a mountain top sleeps the small medieval hamlet of Casertavecchia. I fell in love with the pictures of this rental and we made it our base for a 10 day stay. Everything in Sara's wonderful pictures is true. The helpfulness of our hostess made the 10 days whiz by...and it wasn't enough for us. The decor is 1940's but the building 600 year old and there are some things that might put off some travelers---noises in the rafters, a slight smell of damp---but if you are romantic, if you are a history buff or just looking for a warm and welcoming place to stay, this is it. Parking is good but be careful to move the car to a lower lot on the weekend. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessaries and plenty of hot water for showers at the end of a day of touring. The quiet of the place is a blessing and two balconies puts you at the top of the town with views that are breathtaking. Three bedrooms each with a view makes it perfect for a family or friends that might stop for an overnight. We hope to be so fortunate as to return and the let the charm and the magic of Sara's home weave it's spell over us again.
