“Family friendly comfortable accomodation”
Reviewed 17 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We had a wonderful holiday at the beginning of June. The stables are very well equipped for a family and had everything we could require. My daughters, aged 6 and 2, were very impressed with their own personal park and the horses and cows they could see out of the lounge window every morning.

It was in the perfect position to explore various areas of the New Forest.

I look forward to staying here again.

“Excellent”
Reviewed 26 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

The location of the cottage is beautiful, very quiet and backing into the open forest. The cottage itself is very spacious and extremely well equipped for children. You would not need to take anything to entertain children as the cottage had plenty of toys, books, games etc and also provided a high hair, cot, stair gate. A great base to explore the New Forest and a beautiful setting.

“Perfect child-centred New Forest cottage”
Reviewed 2 November 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Lovely well-equipped former forester's cottage backing straight onto the New Forest. Toys, climbing-frame, playhouse for children. Wood-burning stove and logs, large secluded garden. Very safe and cosy and ideal for a holiday with young children. Barbecue and outdoor toys. Owner left lots of tips for child-friendly outings, and ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies and an English breakfast! I went with my daughter and grandson (aged 4) and we had a lovely time.

Management Response

This review does not refer to our property - we do not have a log burner or a large private garden. I am trying to get this review removed.

“Idyllic location”
Reviewed 1 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We received a very warm welcome from the owner Denny-which was much appreciated.
We were shown around the converted Stables and shown how to use all appliances, the heating and boiler etc. Denny also answered a few of our questions and told us that if we needed any more help we could just walk over to their adjacent house as someone was usually there to help.
We found the Stables to be spotlessly clean, very comfortable, well equipped and in a perfect location. The walk straight on to the Forest from the garden gate was very welcome after our 3 hour trip.
There was no wifi however, but we have found this to be the case very often in very rural locations.
We fortunately had enough access on our phones.
Our 4 day trip was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary (which we didn't mention as we just wanted to go and explore the area) and although we managed to visit: Bucklers Hard, Exbury Gardens, Barton on sea, Heningsbury Head, did miles of beach walking, driving round the surrounding areas (all excellent) during our short trip, there is still so much more to see and do!
We absolutely fell in love with this part of the country and found the local people to be well mannered, very well spoken and polite.
This area and all surrounding areas are very well kept with a lot of top quality properties.
It is an ideal location for horse lovers/riders, lovers of the countryside/beautiful beaches, nature lovers, walkers and cyclists. And all age groups.
We absolutely love it here and will definitely return!
