Review of Mangersta Sands

Mangersta Sands

Tranquil, remote, with lots of options walking and exploring around Isle of Lewis, accommodation in Shepherds Hut has been spot on.

This is an ever changing beach. I've reviewed it before, but the rockface my kids were jumping from has now collapsed unfortunately. There are still rocks at the far end to climb on. Beach was covered in seaweed, but as I said it is always changing, so I wouldn't be surprised if the seaweed is gone next time!
Do drop by if you are in the area, plenty of sand to keep the kids amused.

Set in the beautiful landscape of Uig on Lewis, with mountains, lochs, amazing beaches and a spectacular coastline. Plenty of wildlife to view, and places to visit (including an Iron Age house at nearby Borstadh beach, and the Callanish standing stones). Shops and cafes in some of the local communities.

Wild and remote, with sand, pebbles and cliffs, its a beautiful spot. Erosion on tops so take care if coastal walking.

Lovely huge wide landscape - the sort you can absolutely lose yourself in but not very easy to find and we needed to stop some locals and ask !
