A lovely little place to stay in a beautiful part of Dorset. The fridge was stocked with a few essentials and even a bottle of wine. Everything you need is provided. Our dog was made welcome too and towels treats and poo bags were on hand. The garden is large and the dog loved having a sniff around. The accommodation is ample sized and homely and self contained but bear in mind that you are staying in a part of Jo's house so please don't expect silence. We will certainly be returning to the duck wing sometime soon.
Hubby booked this trip as a surprise. I would not normally book anywhere that doesn't have its own entrance or allows pets to stay ..... the owner has a beautiful home (Plenty Cottage) and has sectioned part off this off to create Duck Wing.
Duck Wing is delightful but small - we stayed there with our 8 year old but the sitting room area has a sofa bed which worked perfectly. The sofa is very comfortable to sleep on even when it's not pulled out. The kitchen area is small but has everything you need (we managed cooked breakfasts each morning and then ate out in the evenings) and the bedroom is a good size with a very comfortable bed. The toilet is separate from the bathroom which is AMAZING. It has a deep free standing bath and is decorated with old fashioned maps - delightful. I soaked in there every day of our stay.
Duck Wing is very clean and whilst a little off the beaten track an excellent base for those wishing to explore the area. The owner (Jo) is wonderful - friendly and very accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. Her grandsons were there at the time and provided company for our son. A great experience.
