“A lovely place to stay”
Reviewed 11 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Myself & my partner have just returned from a 3 night break in Honeycott Cottage.
We found the farm easily using Sat Nav and a re-read of the written instructions sent to us at the time of booking.
We loved the approach to the farm along side the field of sheep, this lane bears left as you drive by the honey shed on the left, the gateway to the cottages is at the end on the right.
We were greeted promptly by the farm dogs & Zoe and shown into Honeycott Cottage and left to it. The cottage is lovely and has basic bits & bobs. We nipped to Budgens in Wheddon Cross (just under a 10min drive) to get things like ketchup, milk, butter, kitchen roll, bin bags etc. There was a spare bin bag in the cupboard and some kitchen roll left on the roll however we cooked and made a mess!
Handsoap is provided in both loos but bring your own shower gel, shampoos etc.
A toothbrush holder/cup would be a nice addition to the main bathroom.

We found the shower a bit difficult to get on with, in that it was very difficult to find a balance in temperature. It was very good at scalding me at random intervals! We played around with it until we found a temperature that worked for us eventually.

We didn't use the TV other than to watch a DVD one night that we saw in the cottages collection and fancied.

We had dinner on the first night at The Bridge Inn at Dulverton with our dog Lily at our feet. They are very dog friendly!!

The next day we went off to Minehead beachfront for a play in the arcades and some fabulous ice cream. Although I cannot remember the name of the ice cream place but they too were dog friendly as was the arcade.
We then went over to Dunster Castle to explore the gardens & Water Mill. They too are dog friendly in every part but the Castle itself. They can go in the Reservoir but must be carried into this part as the floor is not friendly on little paws!

We got back to the cottage pretty exhausted and then realised we needed supplies for dinner. So off we went to Tesco in Minehead. This took us less than an hour to get there, shop and drive back.

The next day we went to Cheddar Gorge & Caves which was about an hour & a half drive. We had a really lovely day here despite the rain! Again we came back exhausted and chilled out on the comfy sofas with our Cider that we bought in cheddar!

One morning Chris bought some honey that had been poured into the jar that morning on the farm! What a treat!

The kitchen has a dishwasher & washing machine which was really useful!
Lily enjoyed the lovely garden and the views from it.
We were not disturbed by anyone working on the farm during our stay which was surprising as we were expecting to be awoken early by noise but instead was woken up by Lily wanting to nip out to the garden!

Overall this has been a fantastic base during our mini adventure and we would thoroughly recommend it! Thank you for making us feel welcome, especially the farm dogs who greet you every time you arrive back!

Thank you Charlotte and Chris, it was a pleasure having you, and we are so glad you had a good time. We have changed the shower head in the bathroom, this should make a difference. We hope to see you again soon.
