“Awesome awesome trail!,”

Centre Hill Wilderness Trail

Did this trail today. An easy to moderate trail until u reach the base of the hill and then it’s a pretty hard climb but so worth it when you reach the top!

I will start by stating that we are very experienced hikers. My husband and I along with our two children (14/ 7.5) recently completed this trail. It’s a 10 km trail (5km in, turn around, 5km out) and it took us 5 hours to complete it. The first 3 km of the trail is rather simple. Its a flat terrain that is currently getting updated. The 2km decent up the hill was steep and had very rough terrain. Excellent views from the top! The only complaint I would have is for better trail markers, but I’m not holding that against anyone because they are updating.

Great trail, updated in 2015. A must do as a day hike to take in the beautiful view. Hill is a challenge but so worth it! There is an out house and a hut to relax in. Hiking boots are a great asset for the climb to the top!

This trail is a wilderness trail but has newly refurbished boardwalks across wet and boggy areas. The walk takes the average hiker 4-5 hours to complete (round trip). The last 400 meters are challenging since you must ascend the summit of Centre Hill.

From the top of Centre Hill you will have views of Trinity, Conception, Placentia and Bonavista bays. It is a fantastic site.
