“Brilliant holiday let!”
Reviewed 28 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Myself and extended family stayed here for 3 days and it was fantastic! A really quiet location but not too far from civilization.
The accommodation itself is excellent, very comfortable and plenty of space in all areas including the 3 bedrooms (each with an en-suite).

Liked best: The wood burning fire was the icing on the cake for us!
Liked least: The electric cooker which was a bit hi-tech for us and there were no instructions for its operation.

We rented the Hay Barn for my husband's 80th birthday. We lived in Essex for 41 years and sailed from Maldon for almost twenty years, so wanted to go on a "trip down memory lane". How lucky we were that our daughter discovered this property. What a beautiful place!Everything was incredibly well presented and we couldn't have wished for better. Carmel and Jason were charming and even ordered us some beautiful weather!! So many times one is disappointed when arriving at a holiday home-you won't be here-it's" what it says on the tin" and more, adding another lovely memory to the many that we have of Essex.

“An Amazing, Beautiful Place!”

I booked this barn and Cart Lodge, the smaller adjacent apartment, for the weekend, for myself and a few of my friends.

All I can say is, it is simply the best accommodation I have ever stayed in!

It is large, beautiful, and spacious. It has some added perks which make it even better:

- Every bedroom has its own bathroom
- Most baths have jacuzzi function
- Living areas have wood-burning stoves (didn't use because it was already warm)
- Lovely outdoor areas, including use of barbecues
- Dedicated car parking spaces

In addition, it is out of the town centre, so it is very serene and peaceful, yet it is near enough to the town (by car at least), so anything you need you can find nearby.

The style of the building itself is quaint, with its barn style, but it is in good clean condition.

The hosts were very welcoming and thoughtful, and made the stay even better.

If you are coming to this area, whether it's for a special occasion such as a wedding, a hen/stag do, or just a short break, and you are reading this: DEFINITELY STAY HERE.
