Description: There's a place in Venice lagoon where you may have a rest and eat in a very quiet atmosphere, in the shade under wonderful trees in the garden. Very good typical food and gorgeous pizzas, a good wine and beer selection. Bread, pasta and cakes are homemade. Food quality and customer care are evident as there's a full menu dedicated to celiac people. The owners and the waiters will welcome you with a smile and they'll be ready to listen to and realize all you wish. Open all year long, every day, at lunch and at dinner time. Along summer season (from April to October) kitchen and pizzeria are open from 12am to 10pm.

I hope your trip will take you to Murano and that you have time to wander about. we found it to be much less crowded than Venice. We stumbled upon this restaurant and had a very pleasant experience; service is a bit spotty, however. If it isn't too hot or raining, be sure to sit out on the patio under one of the large umbrellas and enjoy a pizza and some wine. Lots of choices - served Venetian style so you can struggle cutting it up! You can also purchase wine for take away; why not!

Having had a horrible dining experience at Al Poggio the day before we were aprehensive about how this would go. We had a bellini and kir royale with margherita pizza and seafood spaghetti. Delicious food and drinks. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Quick from ordering to getting food. Nice environment. Unsuspecting from the street but beautiful garden. Cakes looked great but we didn't indulge.

During our two week stay in Murano we ate here several times and on each occasion we were very well looked after. Service, food and ambiance were all a delight each time we had dinner there. The Osteria was just across the campo and over a little bridge from our house. Literally a one minute walk. I speak some Italian but all the servers understood and spoke English beautifully so there were no communication problems. We had a variety of dishes from pizza to fish to pasta. Every meal was a delight. From the fondamente the Osteria looks like a hole in the wall but when you exit the long narrow hallway you’ll find yourself in a huge garden all shaded with giant old trees and umbrellas. Truly eating al fresco. The restaurant has a really neat history in that it was started in 1906 as a coop for distributing food and morphed into a place where the coop members could buy prepared food. Today it is still owned by over 50 families all descendants of those original coop members.

We went back here several times during a few days holiday on the island of Murano. The dining area outside at the back of the restaurant with the leafy covered patio, is extremely pleasant and relaxing. The lightly battered and fried squid and octopus was a must have and the bruschetta absolutely delicious. The pizzas were also excellent and we weren’t disappointed by our choice of local rose wine. Definitely to be recommended if you are on the island of Murano and the staff are also very friendly which helps.

Wanted somewhere a little cheaper, pizzas were delicious for the price. There is (like most places) a charge for table but it's not a big charge given the price of the food. Fast service and a romantic ambiance. Very good.
