yeah Bandhavgarh trip is perfect destination if u r looking for wild life safari and want to see tiger roaming in jungle . But Most important thing is to spot a tiger that here comes a vital role of Your safari guide and overall trip planner . Our complete trip was planned by Mr Mukesh Burman and he is amazing guy he planned safari resorts every thing in well advance and well managed. I recommend everyone to connect or take a plan once with him if planning to visit Bandhavgarh. His number : 9425344631

Small suggestion: we spot tiger in Khitauli core zone . So just before planning your trip check with local guide in which zone tiger density is higher that time

Bandhavgarh National Park is a well regulated tiger reserve, as we've come to expect with all major tiger reserves in India. Its divided into 3 zones - Tala, Magadhi and Khitauli. We were guided by our safari organiser, Mukesh Barman, that currently Khitauli and Magadhi were having good tiger sightings. And so we did 2 safaris in Khitauli (morn & eve) and 2 in Magadhi (morn & eve). Magadhi is the more picturesque of the two, reminding us of Kanha with its intermittent vast pastures and meadows of tall grass. We were lucky enough to see tigers on 3 of our safaris, though the sightings were of short duration. The best part was we got to see the tigers / tigresses go about their daily life..it wasn't just mundane sightings of the creatures walking or sitting. We heard a tiger growl for the first time, we saw a tigress sprint across the road with a kill in her mouth - food for her hungry cubs tucked away in the safety of the forest at a distance, we saw a tigress shepherd her two cubs to safety.

All in all, it was a good experience. However, there are prettier forests than Bandhavgarh for those interested in the forest itself outside of our focus on tiger sightings. The birdlife was really really sparse too which was a first for us in any Indian tiger reserve - Mukesh credited that to the fact that there is no source of running water, and therefore food, for birds in the area.

I would recommend visiting Bandhavarh in the summer (March-Apr-May) for the best sightings though. Else, visibility is severely impaired because of the thick undergrowth in the forest.

I would highly recommend Mukesh Barman (9425344631, mukeshmpsafari@gmail.com) for your safari needs. He is an old hand in Bandhavgarh with more than 20 years of experience as a naturalist himself. Santosh, the driver who accompanied us on all drives, was very knowledgable about the forest and enthusiastic to track down a tiger for us.

We saw 5 tigers, 1 leopard and a few sloth bears other than a host of other animals and rear birds. We have been to multiple parks around the country for Tiger sighting and Bhandavgarh is easily one of the best. If you plan a trip with at least 4 safaris you need to be really really unlucky to not spot a big cat.
