This place is a must if are in Villavicencio. Very good quality and an affordable price. Typical beef and pork are amazing (carne a la llanera y cerdo a la llanera). Try the sweet plantain (maduro) and the blood sausage (rellena). Try to get there as early as possible (11.45 am) the place gets amazingly crowed by locals.

It's not possible to go to Villavicencio and not trying the local food, which includes traditional dishes as mamona. I had to go to the city several times for about two months, by car, and every day that I went there, my first stop was at El amarradero del mico (something like The mooring of the monkey). A completely stranger person recommended this place to me, and it worth a try.

It's a traditional place, so don't expect nothing fancy; the tables and chairs are rustically made in wood, its an open place so there's no air conditioner, and by noon the city is pretty hot. But don't worry: ask for the traditional mamona or a dish with three types of meat (pork, beef and cow), and you'll be satisfied. To refresh yourself from the heat, order cold aguapanela; you'll enjoy it.

This popular place is a must if you go to Villavicencio and want to try traditional food. Enjoy the informal service, receive your candies when pay the bill, and try not to get asleep.

The food is always excellent. Everything is well prepared and the flavors are pure "llanera". The service is usually very good for the amount of people that this restaurant serves on a typical weekend day. Don't be turned off by the crowd there are usually seats somewhere and the wait won't disappoint.
