We were so glad we decided to go with Island Organics when we were deciding on a Thai Cooking Class. Booking the class and transport was a smooth process through Cam's efficiency. Cam is also the 'technical' guy, explaining the mechanics behind the aquaponics and methane gas system on his amazing organic farm. Equally passionate is Lat, his wife, whose innovative and never-say-die spirit was such an inspiration. As she explained how she made her 'worm tea' and the ups and downs they had gone through to reach this stage at Island Organics, we couldn't help but admire her positivism and entrepreneurial spirit. And all that was before the cooking started! I don't cook that often, but Lat's instructions were clear and easy to follow. We got to pound our own spices in the traditional mortar and pestle, and even grate a fresh coconut the traditional way. We ended up with four large dishes that were impossible to finish (I highly recommend you skip breakfast!). Cam and Lat do offer to pack what you cannot finish to take back with you. The rest goes to the compost, of course! A truly enjoyable experience and I would dare say, quite unforgettable.

This was the highlight of our trip to Samui. Chef Lat and Cameron are awesome and very friendly. You’ll cook authentic Thai recipes with ingredients from their farm. Chef Lat guides you as you cook with simple steps. Do not miss it!

An amazing Thai cooking class and an informative session about aquaponics by Lat and Cameron. Highly recommend this class, good value for money and loads of fun. After walking through Pat's stunning eco friendly garden, we got to make our own curry paste, coconut cream, coconut milk and Thai curries of course! We then sat down to enjoy the meals we prepared, was great networking with people from all over the world.

Calling it just a cooking class will not be right. It was so much more than that. We came with 2 kids. One is 10 the other is 7. The little one was cooking with one of us but the 10-year-old had her own cooking station.

The Class was amazing and both my kids enjoyed it very much,
But visiting this unique organic mini-farm Lat and Cam built was really a unique experience.
This is a real must do in Samui.
You cant really compare to any other cooking class as it so much more than that.

Thank you so much for your touching review - 'You cant really compare to any other cooking class as it so much more than that..' We have felt for years are we doing too much by way of creating the gardens as such and it's so rewarding to hear you were quiet taken by them. The aquaponics build is now up and running for all to see and all going to plan - sweet tasting organic produce for Chef Lat's classes daily. Thanks again for attending the class and so pleased your 2 children enjoyed also :) See you back on Samui soon :)

My partner and I had just got married a couple of days after wedding and this special booked Thai cookery lesson was a Wedding treat for us and her brother and wife also it was also celebrating my 50th Birthday.

We were warmly welcomed to this special home and gardens by the property owners themselves Lat and Cam.

After introductions and cold refreshments we were given a history of the property and business and then followed a truly amazing tour of the gardens and on the way we picked freshly the items we would be cooking with on our cookery lesson that day, how good is that.

The kitchen is lovely, open to the outdoors, and well appointed. Lat is informative, charming, and easy to follow. Her small staff is incredibly efficient.

You make an appetizer, soup, main course and salad. They also teach you how to prepare some of the ingredients like making the curry paste, and making coconut milk from scratch.

You walk away with a lot of knowledge and land lovely leftovers as the portions are very, very generous.

Also the photo gallery of Cam's awesome work was a welcome break from the heat of the kitchen and a big thank-you to Lat and Cam for my surprise birthday cake.

If you enjoy cooking, gardening, and learning new things, this day comes highly recommended. It's a 5-star experience, and a good value

We will definitely try to return again on our return visit to Koh Samui.

Chef Lat so enjoyed having you all over for the day on such a special occasion ! Was a pleasure showing you around the gardens and so pleased you liked the fine art gallery onsite also. Chef Lat puts her heart into every class as well as the organic gardens 24/7. They take a lot of work to maintain to keep the produce coming but all in a days work for chef Lat :) Thanks so much for taking to time to write a detailed class review as they all help to spread the word on wheat we are up to each day. See you on your next Samui vacation :)
