Having heard so much about The Historic Pig & Whistle from friends who live in the village, we couldn't resist an overnight stay when we were in the area. Wonderfully authentic in its presentation, you can almost hear the walls whispering tales of old! We stayed in two rooms - one with en-suite, and one with shared facilities, and both were very conformable. The pub / bar was quite busy - mainly with local residents, who were great at sharing stories of the area, and pointing out places of interest. Didn't have dinner there, but the breakfast was great - and value for money, you really can't do better!
