The room was authentic and very comfortable, but at first we didn´t have warm water in the shower. But when we complained it was fixed very quickley

Dinner was great and we had a pleasant time in the bar.

Thank you for your wonderful review and accept our apology for the tripped heat pump. The Inn is working hard to move ifs green footprint up, so we make use of heat pumps. Fortunately one of the benefits of the heat pump is that they heat the water storage system rapidly. Thank also for the kind words about our food and the old pub. We look forward to your return visit

Stop for a beer , or lunch or a walk around . Historic hotel with a continuously running licence since 1832 . Food is great . Kitchen closed from 15.00h to 18.00h. Worth walkimg around the village as well

Hi Chris thank you for your very positive review. The village is indeed worth a walk around. Bradshaws Mill is well worth a visit as one of South Africa's oldest operating Wool Mills. Booking for a duty curator is necessary. Thanks once again for the positive comments about our food. Perhaps a stayover on your next trip?

This was an amazing experience! We stayed in one of two historic rooms, which was beautifully set out! The food was amazing and the service was given with a smile. Everything was clean and quaint! Definitely will return again!

Hi Cait

Thank you so much for the fantastic review, we are always excited when someone enjoys their stay with us in our 186 year old Inn. Our historic rooms are the original rooms from nearly 200 years ago and they certainly have a wonderful old world feel. We look forward to your return visit, what about the Bathurst Country Affair?

If you have an appreciation for history and antiques, you might love this place. Great food, great bar and a great overall vibe. Careful of summer days in Bathurst, but really worth a visit. Thanks for a lovely stay

Thank you for the wonderful review Jeanne! Summer days in Bathurst are wonderful, balmy weather and a dip in our garden pool. We are known for our nearly 200 years of heritage so its not surprising that there are a fair number of arts crafts and antique shops. We look forward to your return visit. The Grahamstown Arts Festival and the Bathurst Agricultural show beckon! Thanks once again

Excellent rooms, nice pool area and location. Restaurant and bar were very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend. Close to the beach where you will find a nice restaurant with great pizza aswell as a nearby mall.

Hi thank you for your wonderful review. It is always comforting when the reviews include a recommendation. We are pleased you mentioned our reasonable distance from Port Alfred as sadly we do not appear in a search on Tripadvisor for accommodation. We look forward to your return to our quaint village.
