“Perfect Restful Haven”

Spent a week in paradise on this quiet stunning beach. The house had everything we needed to relax and enjoy- fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and plugs, beautiful outdoor space with furniture and charcoal grill to enjoy the infinity pool(our unit 4-had this not all do but pool very close for everyone to use). The beach is primarily soft black sand but surprisingly it was not overly hot- there is shade on part of the beach the majority of the day! Can snorkel right off the beach - we were lucky enough to see a turtle but that is not common. Clean, safe, private for a low-key vacation away from crowds- we were the only ones on beach except for one day. Bathrooms were sufficient but not "high end" 2015 style- that did not matter to our group as we were only inside to sleep and shower off for next adventure. If you can- go! Great place for family vacation

“BVP # 11 - Unbeatable!”
Reviewed 31 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We are a family of four (kids 7, 10) who stayed in in BPV 11 earlier in July 2015 and felt like we had been transported to paradise! We’ve stayed at BPV previously and loved it so much that we’ve returned several times - but this was our first stay in #11. If things work out our way, we’ll continue to stay in #11 going forward. It should be noted that it is a very safe area, BPV is a gated community and the larger area surrounding the community is gated as well (although I have to say we went many places and always felt safe, never observed or heard of any disturbances. I've also gone jogging alone throughout the BVP area and surroundings and have encountered only friendly folks).

The unit is clean, well furnished and homey at the same time. All details from the cookware to the outdoor shower, clothing line, and patio furniture, books, games and puzzles, and landscaping have clearly been considered. All the amenities were available and lovely to boot. To our family, beds and bedding are very important. Here too, villa 11 was way above the bar. Linens felt very comfortable and the memory foam-type mattresses were fantastic – we slept so soundly every night of our stay! Since the unit is set up the hill slightly, the view is from the treetops but you are literally steps from the ocean. The best of both worlds! Birds, monkeys, dragonflies, butterflies, the beach and sea as your view and neighbors, each moment of the day! At BPV, our human neighbors have always been great, too, and our kids usually have others to play with. The proximity to the pool and restaurant are perfect as well – just a minute’s walk away. Cesar at the front desk is always resourceful and helpful. Juan, Kenneth and Cesar at the Picante restaurant are warm and accommodating, and the food and drinks are great! Even the groundskeepers are fabulous – always willing to chop open a coconut for a curious child.

BPV is a great location to travel to – close to town, beaches, beauty and many varied day-trips.

Can't wait to return! Pura Vida

Thanks Karen and Chris - it was a total pleasure having you stay in Villa Cala. I enjoyed every minute of our conversations in planning your vacation. Glad you were able to see part of Costa Rica on your adventures and that the 3-dive at Bat Island was successful. I particularly enjoy looking at the pictures on Facebook.

We're also glad you found the upgraded beds to your liking.

I look forward to a return visit in the future. Enjoy the summer.

Karen,

What a beautiful personality you have. So full of life, you seem to embody all the fantastic activities that Costa Rica has to offer – diving, horseback riding, zip lining, mountain climbing, tubing, mud baths. I’m sure I missed some, plus experiencing the number of excellent restaurants and the night life in Coco.
I enjoyed our conversations and extremely happy you enjoyed the villa, the resort and the local areas.
It would be a pleasure to have you return in the future.

Enjoy your summer.
