“Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed 1 February 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Let me start of by saying that the experience starts on the way to this place. There is just so much to see, and so much to take advantage of. The views are amazing, simply put this is the a very different look from the rest of the county, partially because of the elevation. If you are a nature lover, get ready to enjoy an amazing vacation. I traveled there right after getting married in Punta cana, since about 20+ of us had decided to stay over for christmas. I was the one in charge of booking the place, and making all the arrangements. When I came across this property, I booked it immediately. Ivan the property owner is one of the most humble individuals I have met, and within a couple of minutes you will definitely understand why, or simply look around the house and you will soon notice how much this guy loves nature, loves challenging himself; yet does it to further grow as a person. The house is amazing, TALK ABOUT THE DETAILS!! everything that's in this house has a story to tell, put it all together and you end up with a place that's filled with amazing memories.

Booking the place was the easiest thing, and Ivan made it a point to answered all my questions or concerns. He even waited for us at the property to make sure everything was in order (not a lot of individuals do that). The memories created in this place will always stay with us, and there is just so much to do; from fishing to playing soccer while is raining, to a water ballon fight, taking a quick dive in the cold river waters, and the list goes on and on and on; be creative; be a kid again!!! We also visited el Mogote, definitely worth every drop of sweat; and definitely recommend it.

If you are simply looking to get away from the daily life, I definitely recommend this place; it is amazing. If you love nature, pack up for bags and get ready for an amazing experience. To make your life easier make sure you pack up enough groceries in Jarabacoa, so you don't have to come back down; the drive is not bad, but you seriously do not want to waste time. Also, speak to Ivan an plan out other activities he loves nature and plans trips to Pico Duarte as well. While at the house, there are people who can cook your meals and who also take care of the cleaning; but don't be afraid to get your hands dirty; we made it all from lasagna to pizza from scratch (well I mainly just ate everything).

I honestly, can't wait to go back to this place; actually I'm already planning a trip with a few friends and will definably hike Pico Duarte for the second time.

Overall, most memorable place I have been to in the Dominican Republic; beyond amazing.

“In touch with nature with comfortable facilities”
Reviewed 1 February 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We recently came back from a visit to the Centro de Visitantes Edwin Gomez. It is located in La Cienaga de Manabao right next to where the trails that lead to Pico Duarte, the highest mountain the Caribbean. The place is great, it comfortably houses 20 people with plenty of amenities such as large living room with integrated kitchen, large bathrooms with hot water, BBQ overlooking the mountains, gazebos, fireplace, TV/Homethreater etc... it also has a small lake in the large outside area in the back of the facilities and a crystal water river flows through the property. There also many trekking options to walk/jog/explore the area surrounded by nature. We were 6 families with kids and had a blast, adults and kids alike. Highly recommended.

Lovely spot in the mountains just besides a National Park, great place for ecotourism and nature lovers.

Beautiful view.
Ample and clean rooms and common rooms.
Amenities are as advertised, and then some.
Great to travel with school friends, enjoy bonfire, remember common history and make new memories.
Appropiate for teambuilding and corporate teamwork retreats.
Families with children will love the open spaces and safe environment.
