We’ve just spent & great couple of days with friends at this beautiful B&B. Chris & Sue we’re so friendly, welcoming & attentive. Little quirky extras like the “help yourself” glass of mead went down well too! The food was delicious and the rooms stylish and comfy. Highly recommended, Kim & Steven

If you have high standards, then Allerhope House is the place for you. It's immaculate. The hosts Sue and Chris are a lovely couple. Nothing was too much trouble for them, our room was really comfy with a special touch of fresh flowers. Nice choice of breakfasts which was very tasty and cooked to your liking. We loved the location too! They have three poodles but you dont see them, but if you're like me, a mad dog lover, i wanted to see them and get my fix of pooch cuddles. So a big thank you to Hendrix, Buddy, Roxy and the gorgeous little visitor Daisy. We left feeling relaxed and chilled. Very tranquil. Thank you Sue and Chris. You have a lovely home.

Look back to August 2015 and you will see we have been here before. Having once again the chance to visit my home county of Northumberland we decided to return to Rothbury - there is no better base for touring, from Newcastle up to Berwick, from the astonishingly beautiful Northumbrian coast with its storybook castles to the breathtaking moors and the many country houses and gardens (starting with Cragside just around the corner), or even Hadrian's Wall. But even if it was up in a remote corner we would have been here just for the wonderful, warm welcome and hospitality of Chris and Sue and their delightfully "fluffy family" at Allerhope House. More like visiting old friends in their beautiful home than staying in a hotel. As always, the comforts were generous and appreciated, and the room a lovingly furnished haven. The only problem we had was which of the delicious breakfasts to choose each morning - we need to go back as we could not sample them all!

We were made very welcome by Chris and Sue at their beautiful home during our 4 day stay. Our ensuite room was most tastefully decorated, with many personal touches. During our welcoming chat with them we were introduced to the breakfast menu ....We were overwhelmed by the choices and I think we sampled a different one each day. A hugely difficult decision, and the quality and presentation merits 10 out of 10. They were most helpful and informative about the beautiful area around Rothbury and out to the coast. Their attention to detail made our holiday perfect.
Did we have a fantastic break - Yes
Would we use this lovely house again - Yes
This is probably the best B & B we have ever stayed in. Thank you Chris and Sue for being the ultimate hosts.

What a marvellous find. Chris and Sue are so welcoming and considerate.
My room was well laid out, very comfortable and sizeable.
The breakfasts were amazing, with a wide choice, which I worked through!! (Over the four nights of my stay.) All well cooked and presented.
The house is so well appointed and presented, immaculately clean and tidy.
I hope to return. Thank you to both.
