Great hotel and definitely recommend that you upgrade your room to the new superior rooms. We did and they are lovely, clean and modern (no old fashioned wood panelling and pine furniture in sight!). We were on the 5 th floor and the views are worth a million pounds, just outstanding! Very high up the hill and not close to the front but the lovely staff and views make up for that. A quiet hotel, with ok food (A bit dodgy for us vegetarians) but definitely recommend a visit. The TUI rep is also great and full of helpful advice and tips. You'll enjoy it, the balcony sizes are brilliant on the superior rooms!

We went on a family holiday for our second year in a row. This time we booked directly with hotel, who were superb from start to finish.

The views are second to none, and are amongst the best views in the world.

The balconies are to die for up to 20 yards, with 3 superb sun loungers, and tables and chairs.

The rooms are excellent and comfortable, with a superb bathroom.

The cleaners are excellent, and very helpful.

The bar staff, entertainment staff and reception staff are all excellent.

The pool and surrounding areas are great.

The entertainment was first class, and a good priced bar. Although we self catered we did order room service, and the service and food was excellent.

We will definately come back again.

Room Tip: All rooms have superb views overlooking the sea

The food has been ok to good. Varied choice catering for all nationals. Waiters and waitresses have been very polite, except for the head waitress. Seems to run the restaurant like a military canteen. Got very upset when I walked out with a bread roll. Apartment was clean and well looked after. Utensils etc were more than adequate.
TUI rep is very helpful, polite and knowledgeable.
I booked this some time ago as it was one of the cheaper options. So would have no hesitation booking again.
English lass on reception needs to work on her people skills.
Stunning views of the local area

Our visit to this hotel was a RCI exchange week. This was our first visit. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival. Our room was on the 4th floor. On entering the room we were impressed with size of the main living area and balcony. The bathroom was also a good size. All the rooms were clean, light and airy.Views from the balcony were impressive. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and bowl of fruit.

Don’t be put off by some of the more negative reviews! Our apartment was huge, and as others have said the balconies especially are so spacious with amazing views, especially at sunset. The furniture in the apartment was a bit dated in appearance, but everything was comfy, worked perfectly, and was completely clean. The huge walk in shower is especially good.

Outside of the room, the resort itself was perfect for us. The pool area always had plenty of sun beds and again was kept perfectly clean, and had nice music and low key activities in the day if you wanted to get involved. We loved every meal at the Regency buffet restaurant. The breakfasts especially were great, with freshly squeezed orange juice being our favourite part. Dinners here were varied, and everything we tried we enjoyed. We especially liked having the option to have some things freshly cooked. We also spent one night in the Aqua Restaurant as the set menu was included in our TUI half board package, which was a real treat. All of the staff in both restaurants were really helpful and friendly.

The only thing we would have changed about the resort was the bar, which was a bit outdated and did remind us of a social club. We didn’t spend much time here because of this, though the cocktails we did have there were very nice and very reasonably priced.

Los Gigantes itself is a nice little town just a 10-15 minute walk downhill, and has plenty of bars and restaurants, with a lovely marina too. We especially enjoyed the ice cream here, and went on a great boat trip to see whales and dolphins.

Overall we loved our holiday at the Royal Sun and would definitely return. I’ve already been recommending it to other people! The only other thing to note is that it did take us an hour and a half from the airport on a TUI coach, but this was partly because of lots of other stops on the way.
