What can one say, saga sign should be put over the front of hotel, geriatric paradise, but we enjoyed a lot about the hotel but the smooching between the ogtarians was well yuck! But go for it. On the plus side you can go to bed at 10 and sleep undisturbed, Wendy was nice to speak to, but she was like the matrioch of the hotel big mammy so to speak, goodbye san louis I have a dream I won't be back.

This hotel was very clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are showing their age and the bathroom is overdue a refresh. We stayed in room 231, with a disappointing view over the flat roof of the lower part of the hotel. Most rooms seemed to be facing the car park or rear of the hotel, so specify a pool view if you want one. On the first night I was surprised by the sea of grey hair and beige in the bar area. Then I realised that this resort has Saga guests. Be careful if you sit by the pool area at night as we were all bitten by mosquitoes, so be prepared. It looks like the Port Blue group own most of S'algar, with several hotels and apartments. There's not much to do in the evenings, although Bar Pirate in the centre had some good nightlife, most watching the World Cup on tv. We like to take long walks and this isn't possible in S'algar as after an hour you've seen the whole resort, so a car is essential if you want to explore the fabulous coves and beaches on the island. The food at the hotel was adequate, nothing special, and despite having half board we drove into the port in Mahon for a few evening meals. So to summarise, if you want a relaxing holiday by the pool, this is ok, particularly if you're over 50. But if you want to experience the best Menorca has to offer, you can get better value elsewhere (although I'd avoid the Blackpool type resort like Calan Porter).

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view, otherwise you're looking at a car park

I often visit the hotel restaurant for the buffet evening meal when I visit menorca. For a set price you get a great selection of food from basic chips or pizza to shellfish or roast meat.
I have visited c15 times over the years and the selection has always been good, the service friendly and prompt and there's always something you can enjoy from the self service selection.

What a delightful place, from the minute we walked into the hotel, we were made very welcome & nothing was too much trouble. We arrived about 10.15pm & we told that a meal was waiting for us in the dining room whenever we were ready to eat it. When we decided to eat we were shown into the dining room by one of the receptionist where a delicious cold meal was waiting for us.
Our room was spotlessly clean, comfortable with a balcony which had a view of the sea & the pool area,(which l dont remember paying extra for) the cleanliness continued into the bathroom.
We were all inclusive, the food provided was exceptional, not just well presented, it was very tasty, the hot food was actually hot, beautiful crisp fresh salad stuffs, a great variety of choice & replenished at very regular intervals. At one meal time we were joined by Gabriella a member of the animacion team who was
a very pleasant guest to have at your dinner table & a really nice touch on the animacion teams part.
Animacion team worked hard to get people to join in various games & activities, trying to encourage holiday makers into action must be at times soul destroying but they were always pleasant smiling & not pushy. They worked very hard to put on professional shows & took it seriously & rehearsed most afternoons when they werent involved in other duties.
All l can say is a great big Thank You to team Portblue San Luis for my fabulous holiday.
Just one thing there isnt a great deal to see outside of the hotel which is nothing to do with the hotel but great if you only want to relax swim read & join in with Animacion team

Good accommodation in hotel rooms spacious and very clean everywhere. Helpful staff lovely pool and plenty of sunbeds. Food disappointing, we ate out a coupled of times. .Entertainment lets this hotel down, it was embarrassing at best and many people left. Were told this was only since new owners had taken over when it used to be good. Returning guests said they would not come back which is a pity. Some lovely local restaurants down the hill by the water where food was good. Also you can make use of other hotels in the group which was nice. Will only return if these things are addressed.
