The Lençois Maranhenses is magical, incredible! A must visit for those nature lovers. However, be prepared, it is far and not easy to get to.
That said, lets review the hotel…by far, no question, this is the best hotel in the region. Simple, but very nice rooms, very spacious, good AC (a mandatory issue), very nice pool and river side, which is inviting for a swim. The rooms are bungalow style and pretty private. This is a great place for kids of all ages.
Food is delicious. Great complete breakfast and very good dinner, with lots of options for all tastes. Be aware: this is not an all inclusive resort! The hotel got pretty busy during Easter holiday and it seemed they got confused…we arrived back at 3:45pm and rooms were not yet made. For this they will lose a star. Getting hot water for a shower is also challenging. Absolutely terrible WiFi but phone coverage is surprisingly good.
There is travel agency inside the hotel (see separate review) and they can arrange whatever you like to visit and do at a reasonable price. We did: 1 an entire day visiting the lagoons inside the national park with an awesome stop for lunch at a very traditional family house and 2 Atins all day excursion, also very nice and incredible lunch at “Mr Antonio” shrimp restaurant (check the review here).
A lot of mosquitos. Be aware!
The staff is all very friendly, most are passive and only react when confronted. They should remain being friendly but also helpful. Not sure if English is spoken by the team at this resort once all guests when we were here were Brazilians.
We spent 4 days/3 nights and liked it. Even with the issues describe above, still the best option to visit the “Lençois”.

It is well located, interesting from the architectural point of view and has the necessary facilities ... but lacking a lot of service, quality in the food and does not understand the needs of the customer. Especially given the price. Very high (even discounting the fact that we went at the end of the year). Can improve. Must improve!

Everything here is excellent, the room, the restaurant and the pool. The breakfast at the resort is very good, and offers a lot of options. The same goes for the dinner at the reastaurant. They also organize tours the the sand dunes and to the river

The accommodations are very good, the ambience is charming, and the breakfast is satiating. The Preguiça river runs lazily at the hotel's backyard. It is a good pick when visiting the Lençóis Maranhenses.

Excellent place with river bank and large pool.
We went to a full day boat trip and than rented a small airplane to fly over the river and above the dunes, which was beautiful.
The food at the resort is delicious with quality service, no need to go to the center.
The center was less interesting and no english speakers and english menus...

Only disadvantage in the resort, NO English speakers but english menues and the stuff did is best to assist, we enjoyed every minute at the 3 days we spent there.
