Description: At the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant, we live by the season. We serve fresh produce that grows in our own garden as the seasons dictate. As a result, we offer a fresh dining experience, set in a relaxed country atmosphere. Here fresh food, complimenting our boutique wines, is prepared to order and enjoyed at leisure. The seasons also determine the mood at this Cape Agulhas restaurant: the refreshing sea breeze will cool you down in summer, or enjoy our cozy log fires in the winter months.

“Lovely food and wine”
Reviewed 9 May 2016 via mobile

We tried the plough and platter - oh wow, its enormous, tasty and pretty healthy ....all in one. Plus goes well with their rose wine. Kids could also run around a lot before wolfing down their meal
Very recommended, but no oysters on the menu!!

Hi Hislopworldtour, thanks for joining us at the Black Oystercatcher Restaurant. And so glad you enjoyed the food (and the kids could build up an appetite before the meal). Sorry about the oysters - but we'll have plenty at our December Sauvignon Blanc and Oyster Festival. We hope to see you there!

“Closed on Mondays but what a treat”
Reviewed 27 April 2016

We travelled some distance to refresh our stock of Black Oystercatcher wine and were looking forward to dining once again. We were dismayed to find on our arrival that the restaurant is closed on Mondays. However, the wine sales was open and it was possible to eat some lighter snacks to go with the tastings. We chose the cheese platter. My word, what a delight to the eyes and the taste buds! Served on barrel staves, it comprised not just cheese, but a variety of fruit, vegetables, salad, pickles and bread. I just had to take a photo! As before, the service was impeccable. We will be confident in recommending this establishment and their wines to all of our friends.

Hi kmiller12, thank you for taking the time to review the Black Oystercatcher restaurant. Apologies that you caught us on a Monday when our restaurant is closed. But so glad our cheese platter made up for this. Thank you again for the kind words, and we look forward to seeing you at our restaurant soon again.

“Magic in the middle of nowhere”
Reviewed 23 April 2016 via mobile

Being recommended by the lovely lady working in the Agulhas information centre we decided to give this restaurant a go as we were making our way down to Hermanus. Well it was worth it! The restaurant is situated on a small wine farm, with a tranquill atmosphere. On a sunny day you get to appreciate the beautiful surroundings. The service was good and the food and wine delicious. If you are taking a roadtrip this is worth a stop.

“Cheesecake delicious”
Reviewed 7 April 2016

We stopped here on our way from Elim to Bredasdorp and what a lovely surprise. It was not lunch time, so we had tea, cheesecake and chocolate brownies. Both were delicious. The brownies were chewy, as I like them, and the baked cheesecake wonderful.
